feb 26 2016 New York education officials are defending a hotly debated plan to allow illegal immigrants to be certified as public school teachers.

Saying the district doesn’t want to “close the door on their dreams,” state Education Commissioner MaryEllen Elia explained those eligible for the teaching certification came to America as children.

But the decision doesn’t sit well with many who believe the policy violates federal law and prevents lawful citizens from getting jobs they are qualified for.

“It is bad public policy,” said Hans von Spakovsky, senior legal fellow at the Washington D.C.-based Heritage Foundation, and a former U.S. Justice Department attorney. “It is a violation of federal immigration law.”

Under federal law, all employers are required to check that anyone they are hiring is either a citizen of the United States or a here legally who has permission to work, Spakovsky noted.

This also violates section 1324 of title 8 of the US code which makes it a federal felony to encourage illegals to live in america. Obama won't enforce that law but trump will and these criminal politicians need to think about that.

This is exactly what I believe so many are scared of and that's Trump actually enforcing the immigration laws that are on the books.
The rest of his "behavior" is just anchor points for their fear.
They act like or want everyone to believe that he's going to deport all the illegal aliens, ALL AT ONCE, when everyone knows that such is an impossibility.
He may very well end up deporting them; but it will take years.
Detractors say that a wall along our southern border won't work; but they either won't say why or they refuse to honestly discuss the ability of a wall working and I believe it's because they're actually afraid that it is possible, that it may just work, and it will be shown that once again they have failed.

We don't need mass deportation. We just need to remove the magnets that brought them here in the first place

Step 1

End all welfare for illegals
Fine any employer who has hired an illegal $100,000 per illegal and so people rat on them, offer 10% whistleblower fee
No illegals get into college
No illegals get into public schools
No illegals get healthcare unless it is a true emergency then deport them

Within two years they will self deport

Step 2

Build the fucking wall

20 feet high
With a moat on our side with crocodiles
Armed border patrol with orders to shoot to kill

If after all that some spic makes it across, they get to stay

I too have been saying that for years. End the jobs and the freebies and these parasites will leave on their own. It is very easy to get rid of these illegals and we will SAVE MONEY doing so. Why doesn't it happen? Because both parties are raking in huge corporate bribes to entice the illegals to invade. It's cheap labor and more customers for business while the huge social costs are dumped on you and me.

Indeed. Hundreds of mayors of sanctuary cities could be and should be prosecuted for violating section 1324. Trump may do it. And the penalties are very severe.

LOL Nothing says "I'm a mouth breathing moron" like saying you'd build a wall or fence on our southern border. The only thing that would prove is you're stupid and you know how to waste money.

The only one of the proposed solutions you suggest that would work and by work I mean discourage illegal immigration to the U.S., is to arrest and fine employers who hire them.

The illegal immigration is a simple "supply and demand" equation. No demand, no supply.

The whole problem with immigration reform is due to competing factions within the GOP. You have the conservative working class base who don't want them undermining our labor market and you have the corporate elites who want them for cheap labor and to undermine the domestic labor market.

But I have to admit that reading the far right KKKonservatives talk about their final solutions to the immigration problem is both hilarious and frightening.

Except last I heard illegal immigrants can't vote. Democrats are not the bad guys here. They're willing to make reasonable and HUMANE compromises that will limit or solve the problem. What the far right of the Republican party is proposing is one step from being a "Final Solution" to the immigration problem. It's based on fear, xenophobia, hatred and bigotry and not on any rational solution to the problem. The elite just want be able to undermine our labor market that so many have worked and sacrificed to create, while the wingnut faction of the GOP just wants to kill brown people.

They can vote if you're given amnesty. I didn't make an argument on bad or good. The Democrats would love to receive the Hispanic vote at or near the same percentage they do the black vote. Democrats aren't going to pass any legislation to make it harder for illegals to come here or to make them leave. Obama received sh*t from Hispanics during his first term for enforcing the law but short of that they very much stand to benefit.
