You sick fuck. We killed over 3 million of their people because some fat assed U.S. politicians lied to our nation into an immoral war without just cause to protect European colonialism. I was in Saigon last week as you know, I also found out just how vindictive the North Vietnamese were after the fall of that city. I will agree with your sick fuck comment, millions of Vietnamese died in that war. Just to point out though, nobody in Saigon calls it Ho Chi Minh city, the hatred towards the communists is still there and palpable. I could give you chapter and verse about how bad they were in those days.

Oh I don't doubt that at all. I think as Asia, particularly South East Asia, modernizes you're going to see a lot less authoritarian rule and more liberalized government.

Trust me Saigon is a banging and vibrant city now, it is amazing how it's changed in just four years since I was last there. I will send you some photos when I get some time, the Tet festival is just magical. One very significant change is you can now go there without a visa for up to 15 days, that only happened last year.
