Citation on the Warfrin thing?

I hope this source is good enough for Deshtard. I know it isn't Mother Jones, but I guess it will have to do

Now they try to claim that all of her clotting disorders are resolved. If that were the case, there would be no need to keep her on such a dangerous drug as warfarin. There is a tremendous amount of monitoring that needs to take place to ensure that the INR stays within range. Warfarin is not a drug to play with. It works by blocking Vitamin K dependent clotting factors. It is very complex and most people on this board aren't smart enough to understand

Here are some fun facts about the drug

1) It was discovered because spoiled hay was killing livestock
2) It was initially used as rat poison. It caused them to hemorrhage internally
3) Its first use in human was in 1954 when it was given to Dwight Eisenhower after a myocardial infarction (heart attack for the uneducated)

As I said, this is not a drug to play with. There is only one reason to have someone on such a toxic drug with such a narrow therapeutic index and that is they are at risk for blood clots. Like all things in her sorry life, she is not being truthful about her health.

She's had two separate issues. It's not surprising they have her on it, clots are potential killers.

I am not arguing that. What I am saying is that they are being dishonest about her health. Here is what they said

"She had follow-up testing in 2013, which revealed complete resolution of the effects of the concussion as well as total dissolution of the thrombosis. Mrs. Clinton also tested negative for all clotting disorders," Bardack writes.

Now if she were truly negative for all clotting disorders, then they wouldn't have her on warfarin. Warfarin is no joke. It is a very dangerous drug that requires a risk/benefit analysis. They would not have her on this drug if they really thought she had no risk of clotting disorders. We aren't talking about taking a daily aspirin here.

That is the only point I am making.

yes this isn't a preventative it's therapeutic. Just get the Old Bag into the WH with Email scandals, interventionism, and assorted health issues.
All the Dem's care about; her arrogance of power be damned.

You're pitiful, but you got nothing?

That is your best response to what I posted?

Look you asked me to cite. I did. I even corroborated my argument with facts. If this is the best response you can muster for your girl, then there is really no point in trying to take you serious

I missed your second citation, so you do have one. For once you backed up something you said.

I agree her continued taking of Coumadin is a concern. It can be consistent with the prior clot, but I know that medication has some serious side effects, coming off of it to quickly killed my grandmother.

It's easy enough to look up.
It's a.blood thinner intended to prevent blood clots because blood clots roving in your circulatory system can cause bad problems. People get put on it post op as they are more likely to have clots while healing. Long term use suggests they are at risk of clots for some other reason. Those reasons are worrisome enough to risk making one's blood less able to cause scabs on superficial curs and scrapes.
I think it was.Nixon who got dianosed with phlebotis (blood clot in the leg) and the risk of having a chunk fall out and going to the brain was on everyone's mind.
In short, it's not trivial.

I have a relative who has an artificial valve in his heart and he's on warfarin to prevent a clot forming around the valve; but he has to be careful because of the clotting problem, if he gets a cut. Plus he has to watch, if he gets severely bruised.
He'll be on it, for the rest of his life.

People with artificial valves are going to be anticoagulated for life. Platelets and clotting factors like to stick to the valve.

Also people with atrial fibrillation will be on warfarin as they have a higher incidence of stroke.

Typically someone with a DVT or PE will be treated for three or six months but it is not normal to keep them on the drug unless they have some underlying clotting issue.

Yes, an appropriate situation.
So what's up with HRC ?

 Where did you get your medical degree, doctor ILA?

you would be surprised at the information available on the internet. its a drug thats prescribed a lot, its not at all unusual for people to be familiar with it especially given the reson for giving it.

His comments suggest a more personal experience with the drug than just posting internet info. Plus, he's made other comments re: medical procedures or medications.
