Obama now giving "severe weather" amnesty to undocumented democrats

I don't live in a bubble.

Day Laborer Battle Runs Outside Home Depot

""Not only has this caused friction between the stores and neighboring businesses and homeowners who do not want the men around, but it has also thrust the company into the nationwide debate about what to do about these workers, the majority of them illegal immigrants from Mexico and Central America.""

Ok and you know they are all illegal how?

I'm not sure if it is like this elsewhere but I'd guess it is. I can go several different Home Depots in the Bay Area and you can find large number of illegals standing around as potential day laborers. The idea of the government rounding up people off the street is a scary one but we all know what's happening when they are standing there.

I've applied for several jobs in the past couple of years and they've all asked if I am a citizen or eligible to work. Not sure how diligent companies are on following up if someone lies on their application however.
Depends on the employer. If you're applying for a professional level job or one with significant security or safety concerns or fiduciary responsibilities than they would be quite diligent. If they need some strong backs for a landscaping job or a hotel housekeeper than not so much. Hotels and Restaurants and landscaping compnanies are loaded with Latino employees who's immigration status is, shall we say, murky.
