Editor Is Fired, but Not Silenced, Over the NRA

Perhaps popular longterm employee had been in a string of incidents that were not acceptable to the managing editor. Sooner or later that last straw comes.

Perhaps we can read things into this all day long, but it is very telling that the one who fired is not willing to defend their position and offered a condition to severance pay. Don't ya think?

No....the owner of the paper has rights too....and don't have to explain their decisions to you or anyone else....maybe she didn't like the persons bad breath...whatever....

You get yourself a new baby sitter, do you have to explain why you fired the other one you've been using for the last year ?

Bullshit.
Show where I ever lied.

You lied that you pointed out things I argued that are right wing and are not libertarian. You're not only a liar, but you're a terrible one. You just threw out a bunch of crap that had nothing to do with anything then said you'd already answered the question. Yet you can't give me a post # or anything else. You're completely full of shit. Here's your chance to put my in my place by providing two simple pieces of information.

1) Thread
2) Post #

It's also a chance to do again what you've been doing. Showing your willy is completely limp

Nobody deserves blame more than an organization that tries to instill fear in people over "jack-booted government thugs."

Strictly a fallacious appeal to emotion.

pure comedy and irony... that is ALL YOU are doing.

You are blaming an organization for something they had NOTHING to do with.

Sorry retard.
You not finding a thread doesn't make me a liar.

A newspaper has to be very careful and they can fire anyone they wish, but they may face subscriber outrage and loss of readership.

true, they could lose readership. Then again, it could also solidify their readership if they get someone who is so clearly biased and full of shit off the editorial staff.

Sorry Rana but you haven't received severance pay, have you? It almost always comes with strings attached. Nothing unusual there. Of course they didn't want her to discuss why she was terminated. If you didn't have some string to pull that could harm your former employer they would never offer severance pay. That's how severance pay has always worked. Last time I was offered severance pay it was only for a months pay but they wanted me to sign a two year non-compete agreement. I walked and went to work for one of their competitors a few weeks later. They even called me to let me know they were pissed at me for going to work with a competitor. I was like...."ok...and?"

I seriously doubt that in this case. Bowling Green may be a college town but it's located in west Ohio farm country. I'm reasonably sure that the majority of the readership in Wood county would have applauded her termination as, outside of Bowling Green, it is serious pro-gun country where even silently thinking about prohibiting the sale of an M-1 Tank to a civilian makes you a storm trooping Nazi who wants to register all gun owners so they can be tossed into a gas chamber. I'm sure her editorial would have gone over quite well at the University but not so well with the 100,000 people who populate the rest of the county.

As if there are even 1000 people in Ohio capable of reading.

In Wood county, Ohio? I seriously doubt that. A pro-gun control Editor of the local News Paper would definitely not promote circulation. LOL

there has been a campaign on social media, there has been more support for her than you might think. One man commented she was a integral part of their community. You may be right, but other types of media are questioning the integrity of the paper over this. It may die out, but there seems to be a lot of support for McLaughlin.

She isn't promoting gun control, she is advocating gun owners to take back the NRA from what the articles have all said.

Wow. One man commented and social media to the rescue. What a dolt you are

A campaign on social media? From within the community? Or from a few other left leaning twits elsewhere?

Please link us up to the other types of media that question the integrity of the paper over this. Thanks.
