Everybody gets a diploma!! Our schools continue to dumb down themselves to accomodate the illegal kids.

dec 27 2015 On January 1, California residents will have to accustom themselves to a number of new laws that will be implemented in the state. These are some the laws that will likely have the most profound effect:

SB 172: High school seniors will receive their diploma whether or not they pass or even take an exit exam; the law also applies retroactively to students who have graduated since 2004;

We need exit exams since so many teachers take bribes to pass kids. Also lots of schools pass kids just so they can brag about their high graduation rates. All kids should have to pass the GED to get a diploma.

This must be the community college lobby, trying to speed up the process for which the AA is replacing the HS Diploma.

You're not reading it right, TDAK. Students still have to complete and pass all their requirements. This is about an additional test that began in 2003.

"Existing law requires the Superintendent of Public Instruction, with the approval of the State Board of Education, to develop a high school exit examination in English language arts and mathematics in accordance with state academic content standards. Existing law requires, commencing with the 2003–04 school year and each school year thereafter, each pupil completing grade 12 to successfully pass the high school exit examination as a condition of receiving a diploma of graduation or a condition of graduation from high school.

This bill would suspend the administration of the high school exit examination and would remove the high school exit examination as a condition of receiving a diploma of graduation or a condition of graduation from high school for each pupil completing grade 12, for the 2015–16, 2016–17, and 2017–18 school years. The bill would, until July 31, 2018, require the governing board or body of a local educational agency, as defined, and the State Department of Education on behalf of state special schools, to grant a diploma of graduation from high school to any pupil who completed grade 12 in the 2003–04 school year or a subsequent school year and has met all applicable graduation requirements other than the passage of the high school exit examination.

No they don't. The white and asian kids do but everybody else gets a pass in their classes thanks to affirmative action grading. That was the point of the exit exam - to stop teachers from passing students that hadn't learned anything.

You say Stormfront and looks who shows up, Boris! Merry Christmas, you filthy, animal!

Hey, Boris, how many swastikas do you have tattooed on your persons?

Ah, not when the classes are integrated, then each child is graded by performance. I have experienced it first hand in our school system in my hometown which is one of the most diversified school systems in the US. My sons participated in the Japanese Immersion which included Whites, Blacks, Asian, Native Alaskan, Hispanic, and many diverse culture and each child was graded on their abilities and not his race or ethnicity.
