Driver firing randomly on U.S. highway kills two

I asked for your suggestions and all you had was insults. Typical con, I am so not surprised.

I asked for a plan and all you had was vapor. Typical lib, I am so not surprised.

Actually, I mocked you. Buy a dictionary. But I asked you for a plan to keep guns from sickos and you said change the gun culture. Then you strutted around saying see kaz, you do have a plan.. Wow, change the gun culture and sickos won't be able to get guns. That's your plan. How can that not work? Then you don't have a plan to change the gun culture.

What a dumb ass. Now see, that was an "insult"

I don't think that the amount of guns available to people makes violence go up since it's just an object. I think that if you look throughout history whatever a person has been able to carry with them has been used to commit a crime with or hurt or kill somebody with. Whether it's a knife or sword or ax or bow and arrow or poison or a bottle of black powder or even a match to set something on fire with were all ways of committing crimes or hurting people before the invention of guns but you didn't see a reduction in sword production until something better came along to defend yourself with or to use in a crime. In 200 years what will have replaced todays guns? The real problem is with self control and people. A guy has to go get his gun, load it, and bring it with him to do whatever it is that he already in his mind wants to do. If he didn't have a gun he would use a knife or a bomb or his car. The gun is just the tool, it's not the reason.

And what, exactly, can we do about glorifying violence in this country? Stop with the "might makes right." Stop the increasingly violent movies, games and television programs.

I never said that the only solution to gun violence is more guns. But it IS one solution to self defense....it being the most powerful instinct humans possess...

and the 2nd amendment is what gives us that particular right to exercise that self defense.....

I know you profess to be a pacifist.......but have you really considered what a pacifist really is....in the dangerous real world, not in some imaginary Utopian world....

I have no problem with exhausting all peaceful means to end a conflict. That's where we differ.

If only you gun lovers had the same fervor for all the other amendments that you do for the second.

So you've got nothing but bloviating. Understandable. None of you do.

Your plan to stop sickos from getting guns is to change the gun culture and you say that I am the one who has "nothing?" That's classic

It's a start. Change the behaviour, change the thinking.

And again, you have no suggestions of your own, just "mocking."

I never said to ban guns, did I. Maybe you should read #92 a little more closely and let sink in the part about how we as a nation should stop glorifying violence.

Or we can recognize yet another right listed in the Bill of Rights that may also increase risk to the free if we insist that words are also a risk. One thing that I do notice is that Americans constantly want to double down on the mess of laws that have yet to make us safer but have made us less free.

Back in the day when kids were taught to handle weapons in schools... Where were the shootings back then? Why do we not look to the past to see what was happening when guns were here but not "the problem"...

How do I have a "suggestion" of my own when my position is you can't do it? How is that a logical response to my point? Oh yeah, kaz, well you think it can't be done, so where's your plan then, you don't have one, do you, bam, nailed you.

Yeah.

My position is stop turning the targets of shooters into defenseless victims. Follow the Constitution and let us defend ourselves. The only ones following your stupid gun laws are the victims. And shooters are repeatedly targeting gun free zones. But hey, pull back on the glorification of guns and wow, a little peer pressure will end all that. LOL. What color is the sky in your world?

Your position is every man for himself. Got it.

If he was a poor driver and killed a family with his car would we be having a conversation about how cars are teh eeeeEEEvvViiiIIIIL?

Don't be idiotic. I live in PA where hunting is a religion. I was taught to shoot when I was a kid. I'd never kill an animal but have hit a few bull's-eyes on targets. Stop pretending you know anything about me just because I abhor gun violence among all forms of violence.

I'm asking you and the others what actions YOU would take to curb gun violence. Do you have any suggestions or are you going to default to insult like the other morons do?

Pretend I'm wrong all you like. It won't make me actually wrong.

And I've said it before, but because you don't like the answer (it decreases the power of the state) you refuse to accept it as an answer; End the Drug War.

 Another dumb argument about an object born to be a weapon v. an object born to be a conveyance.

More people are killed more effectively with the item meant to be a conveyance than they are by the object "born to be a weapon". The reality is, one can kill extremely efficiently with their object "born to be a conveyance" and it is a terror tactic to use them in the killing of people.

Most motor vehicle deaths are accidents. How does that compare with gun deaths?

According to this table they're pretty close.

Motor vehicle traffic deaths

  • Number of deaths: 33,804
  • Deaths per 100,000 population: 10.7
All firearm deaths

  • Number of deaths: 33,636
  • Deaths per 100,000 population: 10.6

Oh it was an accident! Well that makes it all better then. Also 2/3 of those gun deaths are suicides. So you should be in favor of that.
