From this article: Donald Trump Isn’t the Problem

It’s time we face the fact that he’s just channeling the bigotry of the Republican Party’s base.

Yes, muslimes are killing people and you ignore that and call, us bigots. Feel better?

Take it up with the author. Even he didn't call all republicans bigots, just a segment of them. I, personally, don't call all of them bigots either. Just the ones who prove by word or action that they are.

You want to focus on the Muslims who killed 14 people and disregard the non-Muslims who killed thousands. That's why I think you guys are nuts.

You really have to go out of your way to miss the point

Most other immigrants vote heavily Democratic too, why would we prefer Muslims to Latinos who are just as Democratic? If anything we'd want African immigration more than anything else.
Yea and morons like Nova and Racist X also conveniently ignore the obvious. #1. Most immigrants can't vote because they are not citizens and when they do become citizens they vote Democrats cause about 1/3 of Republicans are flaming racist assholes like Nova and Racist X. So they'd have to be colossal idiots to vote for them.

I'm always surprised at people who think it's either-or. What did Jesus say about money?

"Catholic social teaching is a central and essential element of our faith. Its roots are in the Hebrew prophets who announced God's special love for the poor and called God's people to a covenant of love and justice. It is a teaching founded on the life and words of Jesus Christ, who came "to bring glad tidings to the poor . . . liberty to captives . . . recovery of sight to the blind"(Lk 4:18-19), and who identified himself with "the least of these," the hungry and the stranger (cf. Mt 25:45). Catholic social teaching is built on a commitment to the poor. This commitment arises from our experiences of Christ in the eucharist....

Catholic social teaching is based on and inseparable from our understanding of human life and human dignity. Every human being is created in the image of God and redeemed by Jesus Christ, and therefore is invaluable and worthy of respect as a member of the human family. Every person, from the moment of conception to natural death, has inherent dignity and a right to life consistent with that dignity. Human dignity comes from God, not from any human quality or accomplishment.... "

What was said by someone over 2000 years ago means little to most people now, except fundamentalists Christians the take things literally, without cherrypicking....

Catholics are now and always have been, to my knowledge, FIRMLY against abortion and believe in the sanctity of life...so voting for the stanchest supporters of
that practice, Democrats, is absolutely surprising....

Are you a good, practicing, Catholic or just a common Christian that picks and chooses what he will believe to fit his established, biased and prejudiced views....

interesting....from the poll.....
(A)All refugees should be subject to more thorough security screenings. Dem 57% Ind 67% Rep 81%
(B) All refugees from predominantly Muslim countries should be subject to more thorough
security screenings. Dem 14% Ind 14% Rep 13%
(C) Only refugees from Syria should be subject to more thorough security screenings. Dem 5% Ind 2% Rep 2%

so in targeting refugees from Syria, Dems were more in favor of thorough screenings than Ind or Rep, for all Muslims the three categories were fairly equally split......it was only on the question of tighter security for ALL refugees that the Rep stood out against the Dems........sort of fucks up the idea behind your claims doesn't it Chrispie?.....

Nobody should be a single-issue voter, not even Catholics. I could never vote for haters like Trump, Cruz and some of the others no matter how firmly they oppose abortion.

I've already said I'm not a stellar Catholic because of my doubts.
