This got posted on the football board (lots of 'SC people in the IE) but I know the person who posted it so he's real at least. I have no idea how accurate this info he received is but hopefully it's wrong. If true it's not surprising.

There is a terrorist cell in the IE, they're looking for 5 or more guys. LEO had one of the suspects phones hacked and they were gonna hit movie theaters and malls. Stay away from those places till they find them.

They just mentioned it on TV, it seems there were other who bought guns they found at the residence from my understanding.

I believe there were reports from neighbors that they saw multiple middle eastern looking people coming in and out of that apartment prior to this. In light of recent events and what you just stated what the officer said above could definitely be true.
