More Mexicans are leaving the United States than coming into the country, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis published Thursday.

That marks a historical reversal of one of the most momentous migration trends in United States history.

According to the study, more than 1 million Mexicans headed south to re-establish their lives in the last five years, while only 870,000 migrated north to the U.S. They’ve returned for a multitude of reasons, including a better job market and fear of living as an undocumented immigrant.

Tougher border enforcement has also reduced the number of Mexicans coming into the United States, experts said.

Was bound to start happening after 7 years of Obama.
 
So we lose productive ones leaving parasites.
I'm glad they are leaving but we need to eliminate welfare in order to rid ourselves of the rest.

Shitty economy means greater need to manage costs so building more of the car etc in Mexico is attractive. Good jobs leave the US headed south and the illegals already know the language and nafta makes it easier.

The economic recession didn't have to do with NAFTA. They come here for jobs you are correct. And when our economy went south (no pun intended) many left.

Now if you're arguing Mexico's economy has improved as a result of NAFTA thus more Mexicans can find work at home rather than the U.S. I can buy some of that.

Edit: But to buy that would your argument be NAFTA took 20 years to make the Mexican economy stronger?
