Conservatives.. your boy Bundy should read the Constitution of the State of Nevada.

The very first action of the State of Nevada included...

1) Allegiance to the Federal Government.
2) Acceptance as Federally Constitutional whatever the Supreme Court of the United States says.
3) Acknowledgement that the Federal Government may employ armed force to compel obedience to the authority of the Federal Government.
4) Acknowledgement that all unappropriated public land that was in the territory would remain and always remain the property of the Federal Government.

From the beginning of the Constitution of the State of Nevada...

"the Paramount Allegiance of every citizen is due to the Federal Government in the exercise of all its Constitutional powers as the same have been or may be defined by the Supreme Court of the United States; and no power exists in the people of this or any other State of the Federal Union to dissolve their connection therewith or perform any act tending to impair[,] subvert, or resist the Supreme Authority of the government of the United States. The Constitution of the United States confers full power on the Federal Government to maintain and Perpetuate its existance [existence], and whensoever any portion of the States, or people thereof attempt to secede from the Federal Union, or forcibly resist the Execution of its laws, the Federal Government may, by warrant of the Constitution, employ armed force in compelling obedience to its Authority.

"...the people inhabiting said territory do agree and declare, that they forever disclaim all right and title to the unappropriated public lands lying within said territory, and that the same shall be and remain at the sole and entire disposition of the United States; and that lands belonging to citizens of the United States, residing without the said state, shall never be taxed higher than the land belonging to the residents thereof; and that no taxes shall be imposed by said state on lands or property therein belonging to, or which may hereafter be purchased by, the United States, unless otherwise provided by the congress of the United States."

Wake up and take a history lesson before you advocate taking up arms against the United States of America, because you think its operating outside its legal authority.

He didnt want to pay for grazing rights. Everything else is piffle.
That being said BLMs actions were 20yrs late and pointlessly expensive.

By all means, Conservatives.... Follow your leader Damocles away from any issue on this topic.

You guys drop in, post lies because some wack job on television said it was true and he's on your team, then when I am very easily able to illustrate to you that what you said was untrue....

RUN.... Run, run... Never to return to any such thread again, just go on to the next chance you get to bash the United States of America based on lies.

This. It makes no sense to spend (estimated just for the action, not for all the court costs, etc) $3 Million to collect a few hundred thousand dollars. Nor does it make sense to have the government come with weapons to take your stuff for grazing fees.

You want the money? Have the County government bill him he's already said he'd pay them. I'm willing to bet their county commissioners would be happy to bill and simply hand over the money. They get their money, he doesn't get it for free, and everything is settled without jack booted thugs.

It's pretty pathetic, isn't it?

They drop in with all these grand pronouncements and claiming to be ever so much more knowledgeable regarding Constitutional law, and when they inevitably get schooled, they just scurry back under the fridge with the rest of the cockroaches and don't even have the integrity to admit they may have been wrong.

So, it looks like you are backing down on your prior claims about how the BLM stole the rights to this land and is managing it unconstitutionally and all that bullshit you were saying a couple days ago...?

BTW, its bullshit that this guy will pay the County, Additionally its more than 2,000,000 that he owes, and the real problem is that he continues to use the Federal Property against the rules they rightfully established.

I would not be opposed to it happening that way, but certainty that is not the process and why should this guy get to dictate the terms upon how he pays his bill and who he pays it to?

I don't get to demand the IRS lets me pay my taxes to my local state tax collectors office....

Lol, yes, anytime pursuit of implementing the law is above the cost of the crime committed we should not take action, good thinking, Damo?

Talk about schooling the partisan clowns about what is and isn't factual!

Keep up the good work and don't let the usual partisan "know-it-alls" push their lies!

You Da MAN!

The rate to graze on federal lands is a little over a dollar per head of cattle. Nevada charges around $13 a head. By all means Mr. bundy, pay the state! Then they can pay the Feds! Lol

Thanks for noticing, but see, whenever I have time and energy to devote to this and research the lies they keep telling... They just disappear for a while and pop in to make a irrelevant comment, abandoning the prior lies they were sharing.

While Nevada may have given up their lands as a means of gaining statehood that still doesn't mean that it is Constitutional or right. You guys keep pointing back to the Constitution but fail to acknowledge the equal footing doctrine that every state since Tennessee has had in their act of admission. If States were to be on equal footing then the federal government can't own 84% of the land in the state.

Here's more history for you. When Nevada became a state it was a purely political move because they wanted to make sure Lincoln was reelected. They rushed them into statehood even though they didn't have the historical precedent population of 60,000 to make sure that Lincoln won. They also forced them to give over rights to public land to prevent them from seceding. That's when they violated their own equal footing doctrine for the first time and it occurred to many of the Western States after that.

Also is there any way to unlike a post? Because that was a total accident that I liked the OP

I hear ya man...

How many times now has Damo changed his story about the underlying issue that outrages him about this whole situation now?

3...maybe 4 times?

You got them all frantically changing their stories and running scared!

I though it was strange you liked the post.

Your argument that simply because the Fed owns a large percent of the land is a violation of the equal footing doctrine is weak and invalid.

Nevada is taking steps, legally, to reclaim some federal lands. I support land being returned to the states through legal means, until that time, the citizens of Nevada must follow federal laws concerning federal lands.
