A Washington woman has come under fire over claims her PTSD caused by online harassment and Twitter trolls is equal to that of military veterans.
Melody Hensley was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder 16 months ago following online abuse, which she says is the result of her being an outspoken feminist and atheist.
She caused upset to many military veterans and their families and friends when she claimed her PTSD from Twitter trolls was as bad as mental anguish suffered by those who do active duty.

personally I think it's really pathetic to compare 13 year old trolls calling you names on the internet to what our veterans go through with getting shell shocked. It's totally fucked up. Either this person is a liar out for sympathy points or she's a fucking deranged head case.

I think some people just shouldn't be on the internet. In our connected society now we like to think it's literally open to everyone, but perhaps for some people they would be best if they didn't venture out into such scary territory.

If she was diagnosed with PTSD, then she was diagnosed with PTSD. A lot of life events do cause PTSD and it is not something that only vets suffer from. I think it's stupid to let online shit get you to the point she sounds like she's at, but it's amazing how everyone can handle levels and types of stress very differently. If she was diagnosed though, she was diagnosed. I don't see why everyone would be so upset. IMO it does veterans no good to portray PTSD as some exotic condition that only war vets get...it contributes to the image of war veterans as being dangerous and fucked up. You can get PTSD in any number of ways.

Maybe Zappa will sue Damocles for giving him PTSD with Forced Ignore.

I do have to say, I have seen no difference with Darla as a Mod

semi fair point. still makes me question diagnosing criteria though. some people just seem really weak.

Yes, and some people are psychopaths and nothing bothers them. Most of us fall somewhere in the middle.

I had a friend whose house was robbed and she left the house when she realized it and never went back, her family had to sell the house, pack, and move without her. I think she even did a couple of weeks in the hospital. I could not relate to the severity of her reaction, but I saw that she felt violated, and I could relate to that feeling.

i think what your friend did is pretty understandable. people think of themselves as safe in their house. it's a sanctuary from the world. having someone go through your shit has to feel very violationg.

what I don't understand is why someone who (lets not kid ourselves) was probably very easy to offend to begin with tried to tussle with the big kids and now her brains fucked up. lol.

I have big plans.

I heard that Billy and Grind wanted to give Maineman another chance but Darla grabbed them both by their small man sacks and "are you going to enforce the fucking rules or what you pussies"?

Grind whimpered. Billy grabbed six Ambien and a fifth of cheap bourbon and Darla dropped the hammer on poor Maineman.

True story.

LYNCH YURT
