Coal is not "subsidized". As for me, I oppose any and all subsidies to ANY business. You of course do not. You are selective. You have been sold a bill of goods, and no amount of reason or logic is going to sway you.
Page 9 (not IX)Coal-Related Tax Expenditures
Over 90 percent of coal is consumed by the electricity sector. Coal-fired generation accounted for 45 percent of
total electricity generation in 2010. However, coal was estimated to be a relatively small recipient of tax
expenditures in FY 2010, with an estimated value of $561 million in FY 2010, down from $3.3 billion in FY 2007
(Table 2). The alternative fuel production tax credit for refined coal was the largest tax expenditure related to coal
use during FY 2007, but the relevant provisions of the IRC were not available for production beyond 2007. The
credit for clean coal facilities, in contrast, showed a marked gain over FY 2007 spending. While coal is also eligible
for percentage depletion and expensing of exploration and development costs, there are no data to break these
out by fuel type and they are not included in the estimate of coal-related tax expenditures for FY 2010.
If more people held your beliefs, we'd still see small regional markets across the country, with no infrastructure in place to get goods to market.Coal is not "subsidized". We'd also have no electricity.
I suggest you read up on things like the Erie Canal, etc. Where was the private sector when the greatest country in the world was creating massive infrastructure?Yes bow to your gobblement masters that have made your entire life possible. How sad for you.
Is there anything you have done on your own?
Yeah, the rapid expansion of the two most populace nations on Earth in the same time frame is pure coincidence.
