Robert Reich: 7 Reasons Why the Minimum Wage Should Be Raised to $15 an Hour!

There are hack party studies on both sides, but no serious detriment to the real economy!
It's simply fighting over crumbs.

Of course labor is a commodity you uneducated twit. Until you at least learn that you are hardly worth bothering with.

No you ignorant twit, labor is not a commodity; claiming it is makes you an ignorant twit.

Read and become informed instead of an ignorant twit stuck on stupid:

com•mod•i•ty [kuh-mod-i-tee]
noun, plural com•mod•i•ties.

1. an article of trade or commerce, especially a product as distinguished from a service.

2. something of use, advantage, or value.

3. Stock Exchange. any unprocessed or partially processed good, as grain, fruits, and vegetables, or precious metals.

4. Obsolete . a quantity of goods.

Clearly you're too fucking stupid for prime time.

Dumbfuck, a service is sold to a consumer by a business, it is not labor selling a service to a business.

You ignorant bastard, it is getting hard to not have sympathy for you.

Listen I'm way moe supply side, but is know the other side has cases where it can work. WWII, Tennessee dam type projects
Wasn't he Clinton's chief economic advisor

Secretary of Labor under Clinton, did a great job too. Remember the 90s when everybody made money?

Yes he is.

Then it doesn't much matter if it gets raised does it?

They only don’t matter if you are okay making everything much more expensive and forcing recent high school graduates/inexperienced workers into permanent unemployment.

Citation required.

Only an idiot needs a citation of the OBVIOUS you retard. But because you’re a low information dunce stuck on permanent stupid, read and try to become somewhat informed:

People at or below the federal minimum are:
 Disproportionately young: 50.6% are ages 16 to 24; 24% are teenagers (ages 16 to 19).
 Mostly (78%) white; fully half are white women.
 Largely part-time workers (64% of the total).
 Only 2.9 percent of wage earners earn the federal minimum wage.[10][11][12]
 Two-thirds work part time (defined as less than 35 hours a week).[14]
 The average family income of a minimum-wage worker is $53,000 a year, less than the national average of $79,500 a year but well above the poverty level.[15]
 Two-thirds of minimum-wage workers live in families with incomes above 150 percent of the poverty line.[16]
 Just 4 percent of minimum-wage workers are single parents working full time, compared to 5.6 percent of all U.S. workers.[17]

Illegals can only pe paid under the table, so minimum wage doesn't apply.

You do not live in the real world; there are plenty of illegal immigrants getting paid a wage and paying taxes; many work for state and local Government as well. At least that is the case here in California.

Actually this comment (of yours) is laughably stupid.

Only if you are a low information dunce like you stuck on a special brand of stupid.

Let's examine the two examples, and likely if combined, the majority providers of minimum wage jobs.
McDonalds. Sorry, idiot, exactly as Reich says, competition is fierce in the market McDonalds serves. Stockholders, Franchisees and upper management (salaries already bloated) will have to absorb the costs.
Maybe Micky Dees will only get to open 10 new restaurants a month instead of 20.

Dear dunce; if McDonald’s raises their prices, everyone else will follow. No one survives on extremely slim margins. But then, McDonald’s is not really in the hamburger business, they are in the RE business and own many of the leases of it’s franchisees.
But alas, you’re a low information dunce stuck on leftist stupid.

Most people don't realize it, but McDonald's (MCD) is not a burger-flipping restaurant chain; it is one of the world's best real estate portfolios. Franchisees flip the burgers. McDonald's simply owns the best commercial property all over the world.

http://seekingalpha.com/article/73533-mcdonalds-is-a-real-estate-company

Wall Mart. Think Wall Mart will keep growing if they significantly raise prices, moron?
Think the owners could survive on slightly less profit?

Wall-Mart is a publicly traded Company; therefore the “owners” happen to be shareholders who demand a certain return on investment in order to justify the stock price.

Again, if Wall-Mart raised its prices, everyone else would follow suit. It is how REAL markets work; not the fantasyland dimwitted leftist dunces like you inhabit.

I do find it amusing that you would pick the two favored companies low information leftist dunces love to pounce on. It is just further proof that you don’t think for yourself, but merely parrot the moronic talking points you are fed because you are too painfully stupid and uneducated to comprehend facts for yourself and need someone to tell you what to think and spout.

I am amused with the stupidity that you constantly erupt with, you have the misplaced arrogance to call others morons. But that is what small mined uneducated dimwits tend to do; point their fingers at everyone else while looking like ….morons.

You clearly don't understand the difference between accounting and economics. That said, his saying 'U are no accountant' when I am in fact not an accountant, is not exactly earth shattering news.

Apparently you are unaware of all the security problems popping up all of a sudden?

You are aware of course that security problems with checks have existed for decades? Security will always be an issue. As long as people have money, other people will try to find ways to take it from them. That doesn't alter the fact that it is ridiculous to still have a checkbook.

I remember laughing my ass off when the very bank manager who tried to convince me the internet was safe for banking was hit and almost lost her house.
Therefore, the answer to your obtuse query is only non-retards still use checkbooks, Simplefreak.

LMAO... you think your bank account/identity is any more secure because you use checks? It isn't. Every check you use just allows people to gain access to your routing number and account number. Whereas if I use a debit card, the only way that information can be obtained is if the store has a security problem with their system. Even then there are safety measures built in to using debit and credit cards. Pretending your online bank accounts are more secure because you are retarded and use checks is hilarious.

Gee Simpleton, why didn't the sky fall the last time the minimum got raised? Oh yeah, because you are wrong.

It's not about the sky falling you ignorant dishonest dunce; it is about the false claim and promise that raising the minimum wage will result in an economic boom for those earning the minimum wage. It is patently false and a talking point used by dishonest Democratic politicians trying to dupe gullible low information dullards like you into voting for them.

Moron.

Secretary of Labor under Clinton, did a great job too. Remember the 90s when everybody made money?

LMAO... tell us what policies did Reich initiate that led to the great tech/internet/telecom boom of the 90's? You know... that boom that started before Clinton even took office...

:palm: Thank you Capt. Obvious! Look douchebag, you proved how clueless you are on this topic when you thanked Truth Deleter's dishonest drivel so do society a favor and shut the fuck up.

You really are a repugnant uneducated ignorant moron of epic proportions.

Dumbfuck, a service is sold to a consumer by a business, it is not labor selling a service to a business.

You ignorant bastard, it is getting hard to not have sympathy for you.

You ignorant fat dumb bastard, labor sells its service TO businesses in consideration for financial consideration. It is a contract. People are not commodities you ignorant fat dumb bastard; READ the definition and TRY to comprehend it dumbass.

LMAO @ having sympathy for me. Where did you graduate from business school shit-for-brains?

Rwa talking point has never come to fruition to date. Not once. Prove why this time would be different.

LMFAO at use of hyper partisan Heritage foundation as "proof". What a maroon.

A gov. job without a SS card? How do they get a bank account to cash their checks? Here on the Right coast, factories are raided and the owners are arrested (along with Illegals) for hiring those without green cards.

I picked two companies that pay wages so low that the companies encourage their employees to seek gov. benefits to survive.

Check this out, these fortunes have trebled in the last 20 years. The source of the wealth is clearly listed.

Shit fer brains; not having an online bank account is more secure. Try to pay attention in the future.

Oh really now? Because it's industry standard. So tell me then, how much SHOULD they be paid?
More than high school drop out landscapers. I understand that capitalists in Detroit are trying to exploit the high unemployment rate their, but that has no bearing on this discussion. That is why you are unhappy with all the ANSWERS.

You're the only person who has answered it. So how much should they be paid? You're saying they're underpaid, as a starting wage (so long as they don't fuck up they bump up to 17.50 after 180 day's by the way), so what should they start at?
