Did you click through to the CDC source? I did. I can't find any mention of gang related homocides.

No... I assumed since the author sourced it that is where he got it from.
It's not there.
Also, too, the National Gang Center says there were 1,824 total gang homocides in 2011 (not just gang homocides using firearms). With 11,101 total gun homicides in 2011, that puts the percentage, at most, to be about 16%, not 71%. But hey, you're only off by 55%.

Yeah... I looked through the 40+ page report the author linked to that said 'gang related'... I don't see any mention of gang related either. My fault... should not have assumed that because he sourced it, that it was accurate.
