More Pot, Less Crime: Medical Marijuana States See Drops in Assaults and Homicides

There have been several others backing this up. It was known by many libertarian leaning economists before the laws passed.

Do you have anything to counter it?

well would you not want to look at the internals of those studies as well including funding sources and agenda....it was known by many libertarian leaning economists does not make it necessarily so and certainly libertarians are as likely to skew to promote their agenda as anyone else.....

So it now appears the heart-wrenching tales of cancer-stricken patients needing medically prescribed marijuana to ease their suffering WERE indeed a dodge for recreational users.

That lie was predictable.

What's also predictable is that someone will inevitably do something stupid while high on improperly prescribed marijuana, it will be tracked back to the doctor, who will probably lose his medical license and be held civilly liable for damages in court.

And that will be the end of that.

And the next time a drunk driver kills a family the booze store and Seagrams will go out of business, right loser?

Shut up ice bitch no one gives a fuck what your polluted mind comes up with.

Marihuana is a psychotropic period, it alters your psyche and impairs your motor abilities.
Legalizing weed will not stop drug dealers, they will undersell the govt at all prices.

Auto insurance premiums will soar and dont even try to tell me that people giggling high on weed arent going to drive with a cell phone stuck to every orifice and killing people in the process.

Retard; weed has been legal in Mass for years now, my insurance is cheaper than yours. You are a fucking idiot.

I wonder if Top deliberately spite-groaned my first post because WA is pro pot, or if he genuinely misread it (highly likely)... :D

This is so hilariously similar to the doom and gloom tales of the 80's when Florida adopted Shall Issue CCW. "It'll be the Wild West at every minor traffic accident!"

You guys would just be young bucks without the Dune and the Dude here. Oh yeah, you'd still have USF and SM.

I'm not discounting your guys' contributions. Top runs roughshod across finance threads calling lefties economic retards. :D

Also, my friends had their names on their running bibs at the St Paddy's Day 5k, so we wrote our names on our own. Mine read "The Dude."

Whenever I hear someone use the word "psychotropic" I immediately wonder if they are some whacko Scientologist. So?

Are these supposed to be serious arguments or sarcasm?

Over the past few years I've been the recipient of copious amounts of sex from lithe, limber, lean, hard-bodied college cheerleaders. Coinciding with the attention I've received from these young ladies has been a precipitous crime decrease in the surrounding area.

Since liberal logic concludes that "correlation = causation," the government should ensure that everywhere I go in this country I am provided with a steady diet of college cheerleaders.

The article does not conclude that correlation equals causation. It does suggest a plausible causal mechanism, something your fantasy is without, but cautions that their may be some onseen factor. What the article and the paper show conclusively is, that once again, the Republican narrative is inaccurate. Legal access to marijuana has failed to produce an increase in crime.

No one is suggesting that anyone be forced into some grotesque act, pervert, but that we should not violently prohibit marijuana.
