They were either being thrown out of work or grovelling. Let's hope yours had the guts to fight. But that would have been against American 'freedom', of course. Where I lived when I was little, that greatest American ever, Paul Robeson, was the only person over there we admired - the rest were vomit.

Well, what she's saying Cawacko is that the words "if only" have haunted many people. Let me give you a better example. It's like picture superfreak striking out on yet another date right? What's he thinking as he's dejectedly driving home? "If only I hadn't ordered the chili". See?

Is she referring to my investment fund? Because I said it may or may not succeed? Again, I'm not following. Should I not take the risk because it might fail?

I'll admit I'm lost. I live in a City and area that is full of rich liberals. Maybe the key to getting rich is pretending not to care about money and speaking with populist/Marxist leaning rhetoric and then it is ok.

Is there any other way? Unless someone is handing you pile of money nothing is guaranteed. So of course there are always if's. Is she just stating the obvious?
 
IIRC Rana said she owned or ran a small business at one point in her career. She's a smart woman, I'm going to assume she knew there was risk involved and success wasn't guaranteed but she went ahead with it anyway.

Lol, my business, nothing you that could make you rich, done mostly for the love of it. It allowed me to be at home with my children.
