Crimea.

I agree it was a bad mistake, I never supported it, Iraq was a bulwark against Iran, and the sectarian killings now are as bad as Saddam.

All that said the US is not subordinate to the UN on foreign policy/war

Good to see you, again! Hope you will be staying

You know whats vulgar?

LYING a country into a war and torturing people and dropping white phosphorous on babies while keeping Americans from voting.
DEAD bodies surround your vulgerness

So he's an irrational critic of black slavery yet an eager participant in white slavery?

And an anti-Semite to boot?

And an international criminal?

Maybe he needed a gun because he was running young girls back over the border?

:awesome:

This is awful close to being a no no. I suggest you quit while ahead.

What I haven't seen yet in this discussion is the 1994 Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances. In exchange for Ukraine handing its nuclear weapons over to Russia, the USA, UK, and Russia pledged to respect Ukraine territorial integrity.

It would appear that Russia is in blatant violation, and that the USA and UK are negligent in enforcement.

BINGO!!

Wrong again you raving lunatic. Vulgar and Stupid = EVINCE.

:thisisgettinggood:

What planet are you on? Vulgar dimwit world? There were thirty-six nations that formed the coalition to enforce Saddams UN resolution violations, NO nation has sided with Russia on their illegal attempt to annex it.

Only he usual cabal of brain dead Liberal dunces on this forum are trying to justify this action to defend their idol Obummer's incompetence on the world stage.

Right up UNTIL they realized Bush was LYING about the intel.

then not so much huh

Yes that is true and Russia is in violation but they know full well that the West is impotent.

oops.

naughty naughty.

BINGO! Correction; they know full well AmeriKa is impotent with its current lack of leadership. Europe has been impotent since the end of WWII and have relied on AmeriKa to do all the UNs heavy lifting.

One has to wonder who will enforce the UNs resolutions now that AmeriKa has relinquished its leadership role and now guts her military to fund entitlement programs as Europe has?

I wonder what sort of approaches folks on the right WANT Obama to take in response to the events in Crimea? What would they advocate doing if Magic Underwear Romney were in office instead? Would they recommend we send troops in? What?

But, that's simply not good enough.

Moving forward, how does the world convince nations like Iran, North Korea, India, and Pakistan to surrender their nuclear weapons in exchange for assurances about territorial integrity, when the only time the proposal has been attempted resulted in invasion and annexation?

Simple, they won't as indeed will Israel.

hense the economic screw tightening folks.

the KGB king of Russia who wants to go back in time doesn't understand what economic impact he is about to rain down on his country.

So that makes Russia's illegal annexation okay in the minds of history dunces?

Of course it doesn't make it okay. The point is; it's been done before in recent history and Bush's actions resulted in a failure. Having learned that, our president may be able to turn this around.

If you righties had souls you would be laughing your asses off at Putin who is about to see the economic growth in his country fade.

International input is why they have done so well

In addition to our policy against nuclear proliferation, our policy in favor of democratic proliferation also suffers.

We backed a pro-democracy uprising in Egypt, decided we didn't like the results, and then went with a counter-coup.

We backed an uprising to overthrow a democratically elected government in Ukraine, and then opposed a democratic secession vote.

We have no legitimate standing to tell nations not to develop nuclear weapons or urge them to embrace democracy.

Honestly, I can't think of one element of policy, domestic or international, that this President has not completely run this country down a shithole.

They don't care about the FACTS

they just LOVE Putin because hes a kremlin cowboy and is not black

Russia has done well due to higher commodity prices you fucking retard. As long as prices remain high, their economy is not going to fade. That is why Europe is fairly impotent. They get their nat gas from Russia (predominantly)
