4th Amendments thoughts...

For whatever reason, Republicans often confuse "the way it is" or "the way it has always been" as an argument for why something should be a particular way.

Listen shithead; My last name is XXXXXXXXXsen. My great Grandfather was the first European to sail a whaleship to the southern oceans in pursuit of the great beasts (this may be born out by a visit to the Whaling Museum in Sandefjiod, Norway. My Family owns our own dock in Sandfjiord. I own a share of it. My grandfather fished from there before he died of frozen lungs at age 57 from spending too much of his life above the Arctic circle. My father went to sea at age 15 the year WWII ended and was the first of his line to avoid whaling. All his brothers went whaling.

We trace our maritime heritage back to the Vikings... my name sake was an Italian sailor who shipwrecked on the coast of Norway 300 years ago (his first name and sen meaning son in Norwegian comprise my last name).
As I mentioned in the other thread, one third of my ancestors with my last name died due to drowning. I couldn't even read the entire book, "The Perfect Storm" , even though I knew all the principles as well as the owner and both Captains...I couldn't stand to read the description of drowning. Now my son (with the same last name) is a professional mariner.

If cops risked their lives to save those they serve (they do not often, look at Columbine for example), If the job of the Coast Guard was not to secure our longest borders against terrorists, dirty bombs and even nuclear war heads, If I didn't personally rely upon them for my own and my family's safety, If they hadn't saved my life multiple times, if I didn't have the most dangerous job in the world,

if you weren't a long haired freak living in the desert with no idea what the fuck you are talking about....take your freedom fight elsewhere, it doesn't belong here.

you are asking if they violated your 4th Amendment rights... You are being told NO, they are not. It is legal. It has been legal for a very long time. It has been upheld by SCOTUS. So yes, it is ok under the law. They have not violated your rights. Something an attorney should actually KNOW.

For some reason Democrats often confuse themselves when they get answers to questions that they don't like. Garud for example asked if the situation violated his rights. It was explained to him by multiple people that his rights were not violated. That under the law the search could have been done even without reasonable suspicion. In Garud's case they actually had reasonable suspicion on top of it. But Garud continues to pretend he did nothing to warrant the stop. Because Garud doesn't understand the law. Garud thinks if it inconveniences him, it must be wrong.

I do know that in the "eyes of the law" under the current state of the law they are not violating my 4th Amendment rights. I also know that in my eyes, they are!

Its a difference I am not sure if you are able to perceive. Are you sharp enough to see it?

I share you disdain for truth deflector, and I share your disdain for yurt.... Having said that, I do not believe that they are one in the same. They are both obnoxious and confrontational...they both give off much more heat than light, that is for sure, but I honestly felt that yurt had a better understanding of the law - deservedly so - and had a modicum more of an intellect than TD. Obviously, one can never know, but that's just my take on it.
