Somehow I find it difficult to believe there is this large group of Americans out there just wanting to secede but don't do anything about it because they think it is illegal.

So how do you envision life in this new nation you hope to create? If sporting events or television entertainment is view as bad what would people do for recreation or will that not be allowed?

no....you own it... you just are incapable of taking it with you. Like I said... if you own it and leave, it will be yours whenever you return - as long as you continue to pay property taxes in your absence, of course, but it physically is incapable of going with you - of moving from where it is now to some other place. Like I said... land is forever, and it is forever stationary.

You also own land until the government decides that the public is better served by your not owning it, eminent domain. I don't know how many have won a case against the government, but I doubt the percentage is very high.

As pointed out above its going nowhere. Its just coodinates in space and time. All you can do is sever ties with the government. The feds have no legal protection short of insurrection. So make no threat. Note that this is easier said than done. Your state and vocality have other options (imminent dom0ain as mentioned) you can research that yourself
But the point remains, Lincoln's illegal but uncontested acts provide sufficient cover for the government. And I see you have ignored the practical aspects of checking out. You might want to look into who owns up and down. If you become a different country it aint necessarily you any more. Membership has its advantages.

The government does not own my private property. As much as you desire it to, it still does not.

This is the entire essence of American liberty - private property ownership. My land - my home - my guns - my destiny all belong to me, not you and your oppressive, unconstitutional federal empire.

Life - liberty - property are the founding principles of every American's individual liberty.

One man cannot stand alone against the federal government, funny man. No man can survive the onslaught of the federal empire. But a man's state where he lives can. That's what his state is supposed to do - act on behalf of him as his agent - his lawyer so to speak against federal tyranny and to safeguard his private property and his individual rights against federal intrusion.

I agree to all of that... but your land is only your land as it sits and where it sits. If your land is now within the borders of the United States, your land will always be within those borders until such time as you can convince a majority of the citizens in YOUR state to secede from the Union.... you remember... the democratic process you were talking about earlier. And as long as your land is within the borders of the US, you'll play by our rules, or you'll go to jail. But you always have the freedom to make that choice.

Vatican City is surrounded by Italy but is soverign so mere geography is not enough. That was agreed upon of course and as I alluded there is no such agreement in hand or likely. But there is nothing in law that says he cant.

again... he himself admits that the democratic process is a necessary piece of the puzzle. When he gets 51% of the population of ANY geopolitical subdivision to vote to secede from that subdivision, then he should move forward. Until then, he should rant about it on obscure internet message boards.

You keep making the argument that the government owns all the land and I keep countering your argument with it doesn't own my private property.

And within my state it is protected from federal seizure and within my state it is United States territory only because the states are voluntary members of the union with the agreement with the fed that the citizens property within the state is private property.
