the internal battle for control of the republican party has begun

It warms my heart to see the left so concerned about what happens in the Republican Party. I am sure Desh is on pins and needles.

I guess they are bored because Her Thighness is a lock

But one wonders why they care so much. According to them it doesn't matter who the GOP puts up. Hillary got this

So demented Desh bumps a six month old thread, just to let us know about the scotus decision for the 10000000000th time?

ROFLMAO

Ron Paul didn't get the nomination because he was more of an educator than a politician. He was blasted from both sides of the aisle for different reasons, and the duopoly folks labeled him a loony because he actually tried to explain his position rather than go off on some rant about how his competitors suck worse than him. The Republicans tuned him out when he talked about being anti-war, and Democrats tuned him out when they brought up the newsletters written in his name. He wasn't fit for this system, simply because he had a stain on his past and didn't try to fit in with it. I blame no one in particular for him failing to get the nomination, but people did agree with his policies for the most part.

Paul Slams Christie on Spending
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) hit back at New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) in the two Republicans' ongoing spat over national security, the Washington Post reports.

Paul said Christie's position "hurts GOP chances in national elections, and that spending priorities of critics like the governor and Rep. Peter King (R-NY) do more to harm national security."

Said Paul: "They're precisely the same people who are unwilling to cut the spending, and their 'Gimme, gimme, gimme -- give me all my Sandy money now.' Those are the people who are bankrupting the government and not letting enough money be left over for national defense."

Paul says "those are the people bankrupting America" when he is one of the biggest taker states, not taxing for the spending. I use to respect him till I found that out.

If someone would end the war in Afghanistan and stop Big Corporation tax loopholes we would have no issues with revenue. So many idiots out there think war is free.

I liked Ron Paul. I liked his exposure of the corruption in the government. I REALLY like his foreign policy and believe it is the best by far. I don't however believe his policies would have fixed the issues he was exposing though. This notion that we have to end nearly all government because it's not working right now is like sending your car to the pound when it gets a flat tire and can't get from point A to point B. I believe in recognizing the issues and fixing them on an individual basis with a thought process.

Again, I like Ron Paul. But what is wrong with most of his followers? Mostly trashy low wage Americans with a screw loose. Probably has more to do with Fox News and InfoWars than Ron Paul..

I think Ron's whole policy revolved around 'The government IS the problem'. He felt that too many times the government steps in to try and 'fix' something and just creates a bigger problem, and then it becomes a problem for every single one of us. The fix, to him, was to remove government from the equation, altogether, then let the cards fall where they may. He viewed government as a car with a flat tire that just kept driving on it, because government isn't smart enough to know when to change it. That flat tire eventually falls off the rim, then the rim starts to destroy the road, then taxpayers have to give money to fix the road. If the government is too dumb to fix the tire, then yeah, send their car to the impound before taxpayers have more to pay.

No denying that, most of his followers seemed to be IT professionals or hippies and anti-war conservatives. The hippies like a protest, so they were probably the most visible on the street.

I can tell you all about how they cheat voters out of their votes though
