Senators: Benghazi attack ‘likely preventable’

The deadly attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, was “likely preventable” based on known security shortfalls and prior warnings that the security situation there was deteriorating, the majority of the Senate Intelligence Committee concluded in a report released on Wednesday.

Republicans being obsessed with Benghazi is going to totally assure voters as they push for war with Iran. – LOLGOP

Yes...EVERYTHING was preventable, in hindsight. Unfortunately, life doesn't happen in 'hindsight'.

Not only preventable, but the deaths of those defending it after the initial attack were preventable as well. Hillary fucked that up royally.

you guys can keep spinning that top... but it keeps falling over... and you keep spinning it again... and 2016 is a LONG way away.... and you'll just keep spinning and spinning... but you won't excite anyone except your tea soaked base, that was never gonna vote for hillary anyway. for the rest of the populace, it's just old news...just like the birth certificate stuff.

I think you will find far more people across the political spectrum care about what actually happened in Benghazi.

Of course you'd like Benghazi to go away. That's why we're not going to let it.

actually... I like that just fine. I think that the birthers brought WAY more middle of the bell curve votes TO Obama than they brought TO either McCain or Romney.

sounds good to me.....I hope Democrats continue to believe that being open about Benghazi is no more important than releasing birth certificates.....all the way through December, 2016......

Who ever said that we didn't want to be open about Benghazi? The senate released a fairly critical report. Democrats were a part of that. The administration did nothing to OBSTRUCT that inquiry.

What we’ve seen over the last week, week and a half, is something that actually we’ve seen in the past, where there is an offensive video or cartoon directed at the prophet Muhammad. And this is obviously something that then is used as an excuse by some to carry out inexcusable violent acts directed at Westerners or Americans.

Yes...EVERYTHING was preventable, in hindsight. Unfortunately, life doesn't happen in 'hindsight'.

Our allies didnt have any hindsight; they correctly saw the danger, concluded they could not protect their missions and pulled them out.

Our dunces arrogantly ignored the warnings, were too busy campaigning and when four Americans died as a result of their negligence, knowingly lied about the events blaming them on an American film makers video and claiming it was "spontaneous."

That's not hindsight; it is gross incomptetence.

so... you want us to always follow the lead of our allies? I bet you would have been all for following Chamberlain's lead in dealing with Hitler
