Ohhhh 350 million. Who cares? This is exactly the kind of meaningless thing "libertarians" come out against in order to keep up the facade that they're independents.

And I think we have enough jobless people in the country.

LMAO... um... $350m would be a help in job training/education

But thanks for establishing what a nut you are. That 'meaningless' amount is about 7% of the money being cut from food stamps.

The liberal mentality of funding jobs, whether needed or not, just to avoid job losses is beyond retarded.

Oh yeah, because if this program had been defunded, that money would have went to lower the food stamp cuts by 7%.

As if you don't understand ideology. But I think you do.

LMAO... wow, good to see you are just as delusional now as you were when you got banned.

I never said it would go to that... but the point is that the amount is not inconsequential. You pretend it is.

Of course it's inconsequential. So is the ENTIRE amount being slashed from the food stamp program, no less 7% of it. The entire amount being slashed is incredibly inconsequential in context of the federal budget...but it does starve poor people so that's the fun part.

The NASA thing is a great way to gin up phony outrage though. Atta boy.

If the work was not finished and some or these people working would lose their jobs or be laid off, the money would just get spent in supporting them in some other
fashion.....
it would just come out of a different gov. pocket....better to get a useless tower and have folks working......

consider it 'workfare'......its better than welfare.

Darla may be hot headed, outspoken and a little narrow-minded on some issues,... but she ain't stupid.....

So good to have you back to tell us what we think. Glad you have remained on the level of Desh, PMP and the rest.

Of course it fails to dawn upon the moronic of the board, but if you take up all the 'inconsequential' amounts being wasted, they add up to consequential amounts.

But then, Darla doesn't actually care about starving people, if she did she wouldn't scoff at government waste. All Darla cares about is her political party and whether or not they can make this an issue in the upcoming election. Party over people for Darla.

This is the type of waste that we must stop. To force through the continuation of building this tower, even though it was known not to be needed is the nonsense. "Its funding survived thanks to Mississippi Republican senators led by Roger Wicker, who crafted a provision requiring the agency to complete the work."

He and everyone else who pushed this through should be strung up.

You're absolutely right. Everyone is for cutting spending until it's their own pet project or their own district or their own constituents are impacted. Then it's a different ball game. Congress critters seem to be utterly incapable of making these kind of hard decisions.

But then again, we have to take some of the blame. I've consistantly voted for my Republican Rep Pat Tiberi over the last 10 years cause the loopy little powder puff is outstanding at bringing home the bacon.

We are definitely responsible. Most people agree that we need to elect new people/fresh blood, but when it comes down to it, they still vote for their rep. because 'their rep' is not the problem, it is other peoples 'reps' that are the problem.

If this were true then there would be no funding for any projects because every project would get only one vote.

That's hardly a partisan phenomena.

Well actually it does. That's part of the nature of pork barreling. Those funds go back to your home district and put people to work and when those projects are defunded then those people lose their jobs and become angry voters.

Yup and if your rep does the right thing and kills that bridge to no where project in his district that's employing several hundred people than it's adios come the next election cycle.
