Yes, we are all speculating, but the position you stated above is the same one I see him coming from. He was relating his personal experience. Talking about the people he grew up with and those he worked with. He was not talking about the country as a whole.
Cons, please give me an honest answer...
Did you supported Clear Channel when they banned the Dixie Chicks?
He accurately articulated the religious doctrine of millions of Christians, seriously? Do you also equate homosexuality with the raping of animals. Do articulate for us.
My guess, taking what he said and then assuming... (I know this is not what he said and I am assuming) is that this loon from Duck Dynasty believes that black people were better under Jim Crow because they were not complaining or feeling entitled and were happy, based on his observations.
Absolutly. That isn't the debate this thread is having. I know it is long but zip through it. You'll not find one (unless I overlooked it) conservative saying that A&E didn't have the right to suspend Phil Robertson.

Again... do you or Desh actually know what Jim Crow laws ARE? Do you know what laws existed in LA at the time?
Do you just toss in Jim Crow because that is how you will paint this man as a 'racist'?
Dearest little twit... Robertson had every right to answer the questions the interviewer put forth. A&E had a right to fire him if they felt his answers were offensive. I think A&E made a mistake for doing so. I think idiots like you are deliberately twisting what Robertson said to make him out to be some sort of monster... all because you are filled with hate for those that think differently from you.
I was not aware that Howey was banned. Given how hard it is to get banned on this forum, then he obviously violated a rule AGAIN. Given the main ones people get banned for are accusations of pedophilia and putting RL personal info up about others... well, you can defend him if you wish.
Again... if a Muslim had been asked the question about sin and had listed homosexuality as a sin... would the left's outrage been the same?

Big difference between saying they didn't have the right to do it vs. they shouldn't have done it
Please explain how those comments make him racist.
I should have said segregation instead of Jim Crow.
And I agree with him. Sin has become "fine" as in OK. It's ok with almost everyone and society is pressuring those who it's still not fine with for it to be fine. It can be seen by contrasting this situation with that of the recent Miley Cyrus situation. Vulgar, immoral, ... But that's ok. It's fine.
I know many of you Cons want to confuse and avoid the question, but it was clear... not did you agree Clear Channel had the right, but did you support what they did?
Do you think everyone's moral values MUST be the same as yours....???
Should we all evaluate what you think and judge your moral code ?
WTF??? DO YOU KNOW WHAT JIM CROW LAWS PERTAIN TO?
You are supposedly a lawyer... please tell me the above is a joke.
Setting aside racism for a minute, he said "The blacks worked for the farmers. I hoed cotton with them. I’m with the blacks, because we’re white trash."
Is he equating being black with being trash? He could have left off the white trash part and still made his point. He could have said "I'm with the blacks because we all did the that kind of dirty work together."
