A&E suspended Phil Robertson

Black people were NOT happier under Jim Crow and to suggest its better for black people to be oppressed is fucking SICK ass shit

I have to admit, the guy has not said much that I would find offensive, I disagree with him about sin, and I disagree with him about what he seems to think Christianity is all about... but he seems to have chosen his words very carefully to express things in a non-offensive way.

Thank you. I would agree with your position.

The NAACP and the Human Rights Campaign wrote a joint letter to the president of A&E expressing "outrage and deep concern about the recent racist, homophobic, and ill-informed remarks made by Phil Robertson."

"Mr. Robertson claims that, from what he saw, African Americans were happier under Jim Crow. What he didn't see were lynching and beatings of black men and women for attempting to vote or simply walking down the street," the letter states.

"And his offensive claims about gay people fly in the face of science. In fact, it's important to note that every single leading medical organization in the country has said that there is absolutely nothing wrong with being LGBT -- it's not a choice, and to suggest otherwise is dangerous."

mayvbe if you listened to them once in awhile you might learn something

he is saying that black people were happier when they were oppressed you fucking idiot.

now how is the black community reacting to those remarks do you even KNOW?

Wrong again dunce; he was talking about PERSONAL experience....nothing more.

Yes Im sure you think the black people are all just lying about it being racist.

its what your idiots do.

You blame black people for not liking your racism

he made it clear that he thinks black people were happier when they were oppressed.

that is what he thinks the world has taught him

you brain dead savages just knee jerk defend idiots like this guy and keep stabbing your idiot party to death.

be my guess

If you quote/parrot lies from the NAACP; you just might be a dunce.

Again, nothing continued in Phil's comments related to Jim Crow or could be construed as racist. It is painfully obvious that the race hustling ignorant left and the race hustling NAACP are unaware of the definition of racism, or, do not care and seek to re-define it to fit their narrow minded race hustling efforts.

They might not be lying; they might be ignorant about the definition or gullibly misinformed by race hustling organizations like the NAACP and rce hustling dimwits like you.

But NOTHING in Phil's remarks were racist. Ignorant? Yes. Uninformed? Yes. Racist? Not at all.

You have to be a klansman if you think NAACP is racist.

Dear dunce; please show where I claimed they were racist.

For someone who claims they are so smart and highly educated, you have the reading comprehension of a third grader; and I fear that's an insult to third graders.

Perhaps it is because you really aren't very smart and uneducated.

Dear dunce; we are not defending ANYONE. We are defending the truth; something you like to trample upon on an almost hourly basis here.

he made it clear that he thinks black people were happier when they were oppressed.

that is what he thinks the world has taught him

Wrong again dunce; what he SAW were blacks apparently content in thier faith in Jesus. But then, what does a rabid lunatic, latent racist, leftist dunce like you need with the truth, reality or the facts right?

I agree...partially. I don't think I'd even call them ignorant or uninformed. I think he was looking at his own experiences with those he worked with and extrapolating that:

Honest work + community + godliness = happiness

And just stating such. If that is the formula that he came up with then I agree with him.

Now does he mention things that were likely going on that were bad for black folks in the 60's? No. Again, that wasn't the frame of reference for the conversation and point.

But this is just speculation on my part.

Yes, we are all speculating, but the position you stated above is the same one I see him coming from. He was relating his personal experience. Talking about the people he grew up with and those he worked with. He was not talking about the country as a whole.
