A&E suspended Phil Robertson

If a fundamentalist Christian makes the judgment that a homosexual is going to hell because the OT says that lifestyle's a sin, and I make the judgment that the fundamentalist is doomed for being uncharitable because Jesus said "Judge not, that ye be not judged", whose judgment trumps?

You are a liar.

Nobody says they are going to hell. Not if they repent their Sind and accept Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Do you?

Its still freedom of speech....no matter how 'ignorant', politically incorrect or whatever you find it.....

aren't you glad your freedom of speech is intact ? Shouldn't everybody's ?

This isn't a free speech issue. It's a private entity deciding it doesn't like what another private entity says and therefore is terminating their business arrangements. That's freedom of association.

Actually, it's a freedom of expression issue. A&E has the right to fire anyone for any reason. He was silenced for politically incorrect expression. That is a shame in America. It's sick.

Do you know the author of 1 Corinthians and the date he wrote it? He persecuted Jewish Christians.
Do you think the adulterers and murderers are in heaven?

Now I'll address this. I was on my way out the door to my son's school Christmas play when I read it. Yes, Paul (who was formerly Saul) was the author of it. He most likely wrote it between 50 and 60 A.D. As I said, he was formerly called "Saul" and was most definitely a persecutor of Christians. He arrested them and took them to Jerusalem under the authority of the Sanhedrin. On the road to Damascus he had an encounter with Christ, went to the city of Damascus and was told what to do to become a Christian by a disciple named Ananias, after which he obeyed and became a Christian himself. He was a "chosen vessel" to take the gospel message to the Gentiles. When talking about his life years later he described himself as one who was a blasphemer, a persecutor and an insolent man, but he said he did it ignorantly and in unbelief. He was converted to Christianity and changed his life, not unlike Phil Robertson.

He then went on to write at least 13 of the books that make up the New Testament. Here is where you and I will no doubt disagree but I believe Paul, and in fact all the writers of the Bible were divinely inspired and what they wrote was literally from the mind of God. This is a belief held by all of the fundamentalists that I know.

So to your last question, are there adulterers and murderers in heaven? I believe that when those who get to go to heaven go there, that there will be those who have committed adultery and murder and even some who have participated in homosexuality there. But they, like Paul and Phil and any of us, will have repented and been converted. It is the law of God. Let me quote a little further from the same place Phil started from:

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (NKJV)
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

These were Christians Paul was writing to. Notice the past tense...they were unrighteousness, fornicators, etc. But they changed.

So yes I know very well who Paul was.

I base my belief that homosexuality is sin on nothing from the Old Testament. The Old Testament was made null and void when Christ died on the cross.

Ugh this accusation of lying is tiresome. I never made a statement of FACT. I made an anecdotal reference to what I think what closet bigots do. I never said Phil does this I said knowing conservative bigots (which is opinion reflects that) HE PROBABLY...Now try to prove the word probably implies a statement of FACT

wow.....a lot of obfuscating to disguise the simple reality that you lied.....

I'm not trying to proselytize you or anyone else. If you are an advocate of Phil Robertson and believe his message, then so be it.
As a young woman able to think for myself, I don't share Phil Robertson's homophobic closeted ideology, and I, just like you and anyone else, has the right to my opinion.

but it isn't a question of sharing a homophobic closeted ideology....its a question of accusing someone of a homophobic closeted ideology and trying to make the accusation stick regardless of how many lies you have to engage in to do so....

I also agree with this. I believe that that the left do not want anyone with any popularity saying anything is religiously, biblically or morally black and white. If they do they must be silenced. It is all about building a completely secular society resembling some of those across the pond more than the America of the past. I understand that we have done bad things in this country and things have been far from perfect, but we have most definitely forgotten how to blush.

So if your religious and popular, you'd better not believe the Bible completely or else.

I find it interesting that no one:is:talking about ole Phil"'s observations about how blacks were better off under the northern state's Jim Crow law days. But don't forget that all publicity is good publicity so long as you spell the name right. I noticed that Walmart has quite a lot MORE duck dynasty merchandise this week than they did last week (we grocery shop there so I see their product mix a lot). And as we know the logistics for delivering product nationwide is carefully planned and far in advance.
Maybe the boys are ready to sell the duck call business to Korea and retire as very wealthy zztop fans.

I refuse to address the comments concerning blacks because it is an exercise in futility with so many folks. There would be the same tired, old comments and accusations of racism no matter what is said. I will say that in a lot of places in OK, and I assume other places in the US, there were good, decent relationships between and among black folks and whites. It wasn't all perfect but some of us grew up with one another, our parents hoeing the same fields, serving in the same military, going to the same churches (though I loved visiting all black congregations) and us kids playing catch and going fishing with one another. I only engage in the moral side if this situation because it is near and dear to me and gives me a chance to rant to someone besides my wife. I'm not changing anyone's mind and they ain't changing mine.

Oh, and their products...I saw an old man and lady with no fewer than 20 DD shirts in their basket Monday night. That was before all this stuff blew up. Be interesting to see if everybody's still happy, happy, happy with their DD products.

so you

so you do appreciate the explosive nature which is all I was noting. have you heard about this at all ? do you find it odd that the logic of sodomy is taking all the oxygen and the race card is not ? I think it was a brilliant bit of marketing.

now more than ever. the appeal of the product can only multiply with this and wait till the new year comes and the tshirts get banned in schools, public places... I dont know who is behind this marketing beheamoth but they are awesome at it.

I agree, his response to the intolerant hateful people on the left was perfect. He needs do nothing more. The family should make that show boring as hell this season so that A&E cancels it. Then they can move to more tolerant waters.

Today, on the show, we're going to watch grass grow. :0
