Liz Cheney Discloses Quarter-Million Fox News Income[/B]

Liz Cheney, running for Senate in Wyoming to oust incumbent Republican Senator Mike Enzi, champions her role in conservative media as a political asset. On her campaign website, she touts her experience in the media bringing “attention to the threats to liberty posed by the Obama administration.”

For a part-time position, Cheney has been paid handsomely: her recently filed candidate disclosure form shows that she received $281,587 from Fox News. In July of this year, Fox ended the contract given Cheney’s bid for office.

Her other sources of income also stem from communications. Assorted speaking fees honoraria and a book advance associated with the book she wrote with her father, former vice president Dick Cheney, resulted in an additional $640,950 in income.

While Liz Cheney has been in the news this week after being rebuked by her sister, Mary Cheney, over her opposition to gay marriage, the disclosure also shows that Liz has been associated with Mary’s consulting firm, Yellowstone Associates, through 2011.

Cheney is not the only candidate to pass through the revolving door between the Republican Party and well-paid positions with Fox News. Disclosures show Rick Santorum was paid $239,153 as a part-time contributor before he ran for president in 2011.

Its odd that Republicans work first in the private sector and become wealthy, while democrats first get elected and leave politics as wealthy millionaires....

Like there is no rich dem nepotism
Somebody is a simpleton
Oh it's the student
Sorry you thought you were on to something

If you call appearing on Fox television and mouthing Republican talking points work, that is!

Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi became millionaires on the taxpayers dime, mouthing Democrat/socialist talking points....whats your point ?

Nancy went in a millionaire

Maybe not quite a millionaire, by certainly wealthier than most. Pelosi carried on the family tradition of being involved in politics. Her father served in Congress and was the mayor of Baltimore for twelve years.

She was born rich, by the standards of the day. The point is she never worked a day in her life and is a millionaire in her own right, her wealth has grown

in leaps and bounds ................. while a (sic)"public servant".....same with dirty Harry.

I attach a certain amount of sleaze with getting rich while working as a "public servant".

Its only money, no big deal. I like it as much as the next guy..... , its more fun to have it than not

Yeah, I thought her husband had made some good money. She lives in an $8 - $10 million home on my street. You can always tell when she's home because two big black SUV's with 8 Italian dudes in suits with slick back hair in them are there.

If it wasn't for Nancy's connections and influence in California, he'd be a mediocre investment banker.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi faced numerous questions after revelations her husband was offered a preferred stock deal from the VISA credit card giant around the same time the company lobbied her office on legislation. Paul Pelosi also has been involved in projects that benefited from federal earmarks sponsored by his wife.

I missed this little snide comment earlier. My wife and I don't live with my parents and clearly you aren't all that familiar with urban areas. One half of the street is extremely nice the other half full of bars and strip clubs. Such is life in a big city. So no Desh, I am not rich like you or unfortunately even close to it.
