As a new member I'm starting to notice a pattern here in that there are certain members are trying to go thread for there mentioning racism as their headline or are making indirect racist sarcasm posting threads about "thugs getting shot" and what not. This is the thing I never understood especially on media sites like Yahoo, in that if you don't like what someone is saying or if you feel that the person is making a racist claim about "whitey" or you feel that people like Al Sharpton are "race hustlers" then why respond in the same manner of the those whom you mean to criticize?
That is like me hating the color green there for I seek out to hate the two colors that make green which is red and blue. The logic makes no sense and I see that here, therefore it leads me to believe the intent is racist not satire or sarcasm. Now I hate labeling people racist since it is a term that is thrown around easily like a football but when I see threads like this of similar tone I'm either to believe that the intent is:
1) To poke light of the incident in hopes to mock someone who post similar thread subjects.
2) Because you have a racist intent and therefore you want to utilize criminals within the urban community (or random degenerate individuals) to further generalize an entire ethnic group.
3) Because you believe an entire ethnic group's behavior has a causation therefore criminal behavior that is exhibited in the media is the result of a communal mentality (which is similar to 2).
One thing I learned is that blacks don't exhibit a hive mentality, that is, not all blacks behavior are similar and the attitudes and behaviors are different. Although some exhibit similar behavior, people often forget that the socioeconomic conditions that help create these similar attitudes have an effect. I'm sure some of you aren't concerned with the productive African-Americans who are making strides to be productive citizens or what about the amount of African-Americans who at an exponential rate are signing up for our armed forces (mostly Army). I guess its convenient to point out the "thugs" in urban communities but not the black servicemen who are dying for an ungrateful racist population.
This is the main reason why I never served (I originally wanted to go into the Navy and hopefully qualify for BUD/S) but personally I would never serve for a country in which its citizens still have in fighting. It's a damn shame...
