No charges have been filed after authorities said Renisha McBride of Detroit was killed by a shotgun blast to the face.

Protesters and civil rights groups are calling for justice after a suburban Detroit homeowner fatally shot a 19-year-old woman on the porch of his home.


Renisha McBride's death has drawn attention from the NAACP and the Rev. Al Sharpton's National Action Network.


"We are in prayer for the family of Renisha Mcbride but we are also urgently calling for justice," Sharpton said in a statement.


According to police, the man told investigators that he thought someone was trying to break into his home and accidentally discharged the gun.

Meanwhile the 8 people shot and 2 killed in the Detroit barbershop goes unnoticed by them, guess we can assume that the barbershop shooter(s) were not white.

As prosecutors prepare to make an announcement about whether charges will be filed against the man who shot and killed Renisha McBride, a toxicology report has revealed that the 19-year-old had a blood alcohol level of .218 at the time of her death - more than twice the legal limit for driving.

A spokeswoman for the Wayne County, Mich. Health and Human Services Department also told CBS News' Crimesider that there was a "strong possibility" McBride had marijuana in her system, but that a re-test was recommended to confirm.

A hurt and intoxicated woman pounding on a locked door, then getting shot in the back of the head? Sounds like she was walking away when it happened.

Update: Family thought she was shot in the back of her head but the autopsy report showed otherwise.

"McBride’s family initially said she was shot in the back of the head, but an autopsy by the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office shows she was shot in the face."

Case dismissed. Uppity, angry black woman, drunk and high, cursing at the top of her lungs shot trying to break down old man's door.
