Gay marriage passes in Illinois House

Illinois lawmakers on Tuesday positioned their state to become the largest in the heartland to allow gay marriage, finally pushing the measure through the House after months of arduous lobbying in President Barack Obama's home state.


Under the legalization measure, which the state House approved 61-54 before sending it on to the Senate for technical changes, gay weddings could be held in Illinois starting in June. The bill heads next to Gov. Pat Quinn, who has pledged to sign it, though it wasn't immediately clear when.


Fourteen states plus Washington D.C., allow same-sex marriage.


The road to the Illinois vote was long with a stalled attempt earlier this year, something that frustrated activists in the state where Democrats lead the House, Senate and governor's office. Chicago Democratic Rep. Greg Harris, who is the main sponsor, decided not to bring the bill for a vote in May because he said he simply didn't have the support.

New age Christianity is part of the occult. It puts man above God. Your God is a human God.

Rich feminist? I don't know if you're rich but like all feminists you play the persictued victim of the western white man despite your privileged lifestyle and having access to luxuries.

This queer marriage agenda is rejected by the overwhelming majority of the people in the different states. When people in the states where their supreme courts sanction it and where they try to appeal it which they will in a few of the few states and they find out how difficult it is to do so, the ranks of anti queer marriage folks will grow larger. The opposition to it cuts across all political, racial, and ethnic lines. It's a huge loser for the queer marriage pushers, push it as they may.

I do not put man above God, so you are still (as always) wrong. And I practice Christianity as a United Methodist, not some new age version. Wrong again.

And a horse isnt necessarily a luxury. It's about choices. I have yet to own a vehicle made in this century. So STILL wrong.

The Methodist Church is part of the leftist National Council Of Churches so it stands to reason that an occultist such as you would be a member.

AOD stands in direct opposition to the mission of Christ on this earth and is an abomination as you are an abomination.

People don't own horses because they can't afford to own them, they don't have the space necessary to keep one nor the money necessary to maintain one.
