9 Out Of 10 Americans Are Completely Wrong About This Mind-Blowing Fact

I believe in capitalism, but one of its inherent flaws is that too much of the wealth ends up in the hands of too few of the people. Clearly, that's an issue that keeps getting more & more obvious.

You can't have it both ways....Capitalism does exactly what its doing.....give innovators the opportunity to create wealth...
wealth is not a finite, set quantity....people creating wealth don't achieve it by creating poor....
People get or stay rich by virtue of their own actions and people get or stay poor for the same reason.....ability

You have no idea of what makes capitalism work, which incidentally, has been working splendidly for over 200 years here. Hard work and dedication still get you ahead, nothing has ever changed about that. The fact that some people have wealth they didn't work for and earn, is a byproduct of a prosperous capitalist system, and there is nothing we can do about that unless we destroy capitalism. Someone, at some point, did work hard and devote themselves to making a fortune, and they've passed this along to the next generation. Are you saying we'd all be better off if the government just took everything you own when you die?
Why do you ignore the obvious? Capitalism works best when it's a circular system, within a country.

The wealthy ALWAYS end up with the money, but not before it circles through the economy. The wealthy pay the middle class to produce goods/services, and in return, the middle class purchases the goods/services that make the wealthy....wealthy.

Manufacturing no longer takes place in this country, due in large part to the insatiable need by the wealthy to attain more wealth.

So, we now have an economic system that's linear, with wealth going straight to the top, never to be seen again. At least, not in this country.

Incorrect. See above

Capitalism hasn't been 'circular, (within one country) for centurys .... its world wide...but at least you acknowledge that it is the wealthy
that provide the people with with jobs...whether its Japanese auto makers providing jobs for US workers or US corps. providing jobs for the Chinese....
nations all over the world do the same thing....
Repeating the left wing crap line "the insatiable need by the wealthy to attain more wealth" just shows where you're coming from....
Hopefully, there will always be some group of people that enjoy great success in whatever business endeavors they explore, thats good for the country
and good for all of us.
It isn't 'the wealthy' that end up with the money...its the people that end up with the money become the wealthy.

I dont see what the big deal is. Those graphs showed percentage of dollars....of wealth.

It didnt show amounts of dollars. Who says the people, except in the poverty level segment, dont have 'enough?' And why do they deserve more? Are they entitled to more?

The people in the other segments aren't suffering, are they? I'm in one of those segments (not the poverty one)...if I wanted more money, I'd work harder and work more. But I dont, I prefer to find a different balance in my life.

Bill Gates is worth about $60 - 80 billion, give or take. When you have a *very few* individuals with that much, such simplistic graphs will not show the full story. And btw, the Gates Foundation has a $40 billion endowment and gives away about $4 billion a year.

BRAVO; someone who actually gets it and can state it in one comprehensive sentence.

You are technically correct in that we have never seen the true ideal of what Marxism is and there is a really good reason for that. Like all pseudo intellectual theories, it severely discounted human nature. Oh it sounded swell that everyone was equal, but that isn't the reality.

You will never get to pure Marxism because you can't get past the murder and destruction of socialism to get there. Your education is complete. You are welcome

BRAVO; someone else who actually gets it. Idealists always like to ignore human nature in their desperate bid for equal outcomes and mediocrity.

Just like you can't get past the jury-rigging of capitalism to get to a truly free market. In the real world there are always too many assholes looking for an unfair advantage for perfect competition to actually realize its full benefits.

Regardless of ditzy's faceplant, Marxism has been tried and failed. But I don't see why these discussions always tend to focus on the utopian results and don't instead focus on the foundational premises. By that I mean the Marxist theory of value is really stupid and so clearly wrong that it becomes obvious why the results are never any good. The value of an item is not based on how much labor is required to produce it. The value of a good is based on it's utility.

And what determines a good or services utility?

Recurrent...and incorrect...theme here: 'Equal' means 'the same.'

It does not. All people are not the same, but they are to be treated equally. (reader's digest version)

How hard is it to make that distinction? Philly Rabbit cannot, that much I've read.

The only people I can see defending this great injustice are the people pigging out at the pig troughs(There seems to be a few on this board) and the deceived useful idiots that believe all the capitalist bullshit!!!

progressive taxation is not marxist and has been a part of the US income tax formula since its inception.

Who says progressive taxation is Marxism; the current code is an abomination, but certainly vpcan it be called Marxism until it achieves 100% confiscation levels.

But the current code is used by corrupt Leftist politicians to obtain the votes of simpletons in order to retain their political power.

Supplanting it with a simplified flat tax or Fair "consumption" Tax would go a long way towards re-obtaining our liberties and freedoms.

Only Mexico leads the US in income inequality and so sets the example the rabid right is wishing for. People in Mexico are born into poverty and there's little the vast majority can do to change it.

That's what the rabid extreme right in the US is essentially asking for. If it wasn't for the GOP deciding to take back their party from the teabaggers the US would soon get it!
