As millions of Americans wait to see how the federal health exchanges shake out, some who’ve been hanging onto their jobs just for the insurance say Obamacare gives them a new reason to bid their old employers goodbye.


One Arizona couple, Claudia and Joseph Schulz, just quit their jobs, in fact, and launched a husband-and-wife real estate team, largely because they can sign up this week for health insurance not tethered to any position.

“That was the fear before. We felt too much on our own,” says Claudia Schulz, 33, of Phoenix. “Now, if we’re able to make our dream come true of owning our own business, or at least giving it a shot, it’s worth it.”

Now if only we had done single payer!!! But this is a great example of the flexibility the ACA brings. People with pre-existing conditions - or whose spouse had pre-existing conditions - were definitely reluctant to leave their jobs just due to health insurance. Talk about an artificial inhibitor!

While that really sucks, and I hope those people find other employers - at least now they can get insurance on the exchanges and, if their income is low enough, they can get subsidies.
 
I find it hilarious that all if these libbies who get all orgasmic over Ofuckfacebamacare aren't falling over themselves signing up for these wonderful exchanges.

Even if your employer offers coverage, you can opt to buy a plan on the exchange. However, you may not be eligible for a subsidy unless you make less than 400 percent of the federal poverty level and your employer's plan covered less than 60 percent of allowed medical expenses or cost more than 9.5 percent of your household income."
