Eventually, though, he'll return, the Eagles insist. They have no plans of severing ties with the wide receiver who was caught on video using a heinous racial slur that has since rocked -- and possibly divided -- the team's locker room.

Coach Chip Kelly made it perfectly clear Friday after practice that cutting Cooper is not in the team's plans.

"There's never been any question of cutting Riley," Kelly said. "His status with us is not in question."

No, I have never done that. The alcohol didn't make him say it, it just relaxed his judgement enough to say it out loud.

I get what you're saying, but would have to diverge a bit from that. That can definitely be true, but I don't know enough about the guy.

I have known enough drunks in my day to know that some guys like to just say whatever they think will get the biggest reaction when they're hammered. It's usually not indicative of much beyond that they're being pretty stupid.
 
I know when I go out with my buddy for the SF Giants he's real conscious about knowing people are watching him at all times. He takes pictures with people but always makes sure alcohol isn't visible and things like that. Just not sure what Cooper was thinking saying this knowing he was on camera.

I don't think it was relaxed judgment. It was anger. He said it after a confrontation with a black security guard. He was angry at a black man and broke out the n-bomb. Basic racist shit.
