Yes, I have. I understand the racial injustices within our court system. Both with convictions and with sentencing. But when looking at the prosecutions case, LEGALLY the jury had little choice but to acquit.

Obviously I am a white guy... so my perception on the above is different. I simply do not see how this case is like the Till case, other than the fact the two victims were black teens. Till's murder was premeditated and based on pure hate. I know you think the Martin case is the same, but I am missing the evidence that it shows it was either premeditated or based on hate. Was he profiled? Yes. But in the past, Zimmerman had shown a reluctance to get close enough for a confrontation. That is evidenced by his previous 911 calls. This time it happened and as a result Martin died. It is tragic for certain. But that doesn't change what the prosecution presented. Based on that, I don't think the jury could do anything else under the law.

Which is why the Black Caucus in DC is trying to get the laws changed with regards to profiling etc...

The point isn't the law .. it's the application of the law which is starkly different for blacks than it is for whites .. and to ignore that truth demonstrates the control white privilege has on one's brain.
