"There is nothing more painful to me at this stage in my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery. Then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved. . . .Jesse Jackson

"If its the truth, it ain't racist".....Poet

It's good to identify people.

Knowing that you would celebrate the racist murder of my sons .. and perhaps even my daughters is good to know.

Thanks

I go back to the reactions of some of the white males on this forum, who have been so vocal about police brutality in some cases; who have said they need their guns to overthrow a govt that oppresses them.

But when it comes to a black youth getting shot by a member of the Neighborhood Watch, when it comes to a police dept that sat on their hands and let the shooter walk away - they are suddenly all for the police force and for the NW guy. And when it is suggested that black people might want to use guns against a govt that is oppressing THEM, these same white guys call foul, that of course the black people shouldn't use violence.

Thank goodness everyone isn't like these short-sighted troglodytes. I wish they would understand that a society that embraces everyone is a better society. That it doesn't take anything away from them to treat black people fairly.

I do have hopes though that the younger generation is less racist, more accepting. I hope our country becomes the country it should be, over time and with a lot of hard work.

APPLAUSE

BS...You took his words completely out of context, if not misquoted him. Racist POS.

And how dare you quote me, as if I condone your rhetoric and/or stance. Lowlife.

If there is more to the quote, please feel free to post it.....

Feel free to wallow in your own perspective. I've not said once that you couldn't.

But did you really expect that you could just spout unfounded perspective about black history without the challenge of actual black people? Is that what you think is fair or even honest?

Darla was right ... what do you know about being a woman?

Answer, the same thing you know about being black. Nothing.

Given that undeniable truth, and the fact that I know nothing about being a woman either, I quite often listen to the perspectives that bear more weight than those just casually passing by.

Your claim that comparing this to the murder of Emmett Till determines that you don't know much about Emmett Till, don't know much about our history.

If you'd like to challenge any of that, I welcome it.

Emmett Till spoke with a white woman. Because he was black, it was decided ahead of time that he would be lynched and killed, and that they would make an example out of him.

I agree that GZ probably wouldn't have followed Trayvon if he was white - but the comparison basically ends there. To me, the evidence shows that he didn't set out to kill a man that day, and that there was no premeditation to that effect. Whereas the jury in the Till trial ignored the evidence in a racial manner, the jury in the GZ case didn't see enough evidence for even a manslaughter charge - because there really wasn't enough evidence. Too many conflicting testimonies, too much ambiguity. Wanting to believe that GZ was guilty just isn't enough.

If you can't see the vast difference between these 2 cases, I can't really do much for you.

this police department has a very very checkered history too.

The media should have covered the towns history

IRISH??? I thought you were going to say you were Mayan or some other South American Indian grouping; they also have been horribly persecuted, killed, and discriminated against.

IRISH? Yeah, cry me a river. (I'm part Irish myself, just FYI)

All native peoples suffered horribly when Europeans arrived in the New world... but their civilizations fell more often to Disease. Not Slavery or War. Smallpox and Plague killed the Inca, Mayans and Aztecs as well as ravaged the Native North American people.

There was a person on the phone who was an ear witness to the crime.

why do you ignore her testimony?

I fail to see what tf you're talking about in response to my post.....

I celebrate no murder....none....

You need to get a grip bac....raving and ranting and yelling " racist " at every post won't get you anywhere with anyone...

Lay pout how you think this all impacts this case?

are you sure you expressed no joy at the death of this boy.

think about it.

That is a lot of posts over days and days

I dont ignore it. Taken with other audio testimony that they had, it just left too much ambiguity. They didn't pass the "reasonable doubt" threshold.

Even some of the most adament advocates for jail agree that the prosecution did a poor job, desh. If you're on a jury, you can't cherrypick evidence. You have to look at the case as a whole.

so you just tossed out the one witness who heard what happened and you expect to get away with that blanket excuse?

What made you toss out her testimony.

be specific

In case you haven't noticed, there is nothing you can do for me .. nothing that I need from you.

Both were stalked because they were black.

I've always considered you a good and intelligent person .. I still do. But you seem to have no understanding of race in America, thus you speak with no authority on the issue.

Had the situation been reversed, Martin would be in jail and found guilty.

If you can't see that, then maybe you should go away and talk to someone else.

She was black and spoke English as a second language.

Is that why?

That's a despicable insinuation.

I didn't "toss out" her testimony. I looked at all of the evidence.

You're really out of control. If you think I'm a racist, have at it - but you had better have some very good evidence on that one before you go carelessly throwing out insinuations like that.

Do you honestly believe that?

Because if you do you are guilty of the same Prejudicial stereotyping you accuse others of...

I certainly dont think a Majority of any group is evil... hell the percentage is fractional at best. Maybe 1% at the very most..

But 60%... All that tells us is that you are prejudiced and you have a beef with white Americans.

and for the record.... My people were slaves fro the 14th Century onward till the middle of the 19th. almost 3/4 of my people were shipped of and sold as slaves. 75% of an entire race and we endured it for almost 600 years.

I'm not holding a grudge... why are you?

Are you Chinese?

Anyone who was not sitting on top of a HUGE pile of racist baggage couldn't help but see how honest that young woman was.

Many just saw her as a chubby black girl with a bad education.

She speaKs three languages and English is not her first language.

which is why she cant read it in cursive.

She wasn't your typical pretty girl huh.

she has a big neck and a round shape.

(I have to stop for a second and say that that girl had some of the prettiest eyes Ive ever seen)

I watched this young woman.

She never wavered from what she said she heard.

The only lies they could find were when she was not completely honest with the mother when first contacted.

It was obvious she wanted nothing to do with being a part of the circus she knew dammed well would become her life if she had to testify.

She also was trying to not hurt the moms feelings.

On the stand she was awesome.

You could see she was telling the truth.

To me, posters like evince do a hell of a lot more to continue the proud American tradition of separation than they do to try to bring the country together.

But maybe that's just me.

This board has been a depressing place today.
