S is for Shank: ‘Sesame Street’ to teach kids about when Mommy Or Daddy Goes To Jail

Its pretty fucked up that this is something sesame street even needs to deal with. Its even more fucked up that so many kids have to go through that kinda shit.

I don't see the big deal with hoodies. Its a generation thing I guess. I mean, I'm the only gym in my gym who doesn't wear one in the winter, but everyone else in my relative age group (and hobby groups) wear them at least occasionally. Even my veteran biker friends wear them. Seriously what's the issue?

Here is some salve to rub on your lady parts.

My lady parts? As an avowed heterosexual, are you coming on to me?

Look, when you start posting hateful bullshit like I quoted above, you get challenged on it the "gerbil" line and the "workboots" line are so far off reality as to be utter nonsense.

I don't get it either. But since the Zimmerman thing a hoodie automatically means "thug" to those who live for stereotypes.

I'm as pro Zimmerman as someone can be but cmon. That's how people dress. Does having a suit make you a mobster?

And long hair makes you a hippy, a shaved head makes you a skinhead......

It is just another attempt to classify people based on nonsense.

The difference between you and these other retreads who think a hoodie means something, is that you think for yourself.

Hooray for another loop into the spiral down to the destruction of our culture. Let's teach all the kids that being in jail isn't so bad. Let's focus on the unfortunate victims of the rules we make to govern society. Should we stop incarcerating parents?

Everyone knows it's not the child's fault.

Isn't the child/parent relationship dynamic part of the punishment for the parent? Then why should we feel bad about it?

It sucks for the kid, but we have to have laws and punishment for breaking them. The child is supposed to learn that what their parent did was not something they should do.

Does minimizing the stigma create the effect we desire? I say no. I don't want little criminal jr. to think daddy/mommy jailbird is someone to emulate.

Let's teach the kids that they are victims. Yeah, that's it. Society is bad to them.

They are victims of their parents.
Odd how criminals always have victims.

Odd how liberal sesame st don't have little Jimmie whose mommy is in a wheelchair because she was gang raped by a group of savages, left unconscious for hours in such a position that the circulation to her legs was cut off causing amputation.

No?

What about little Sally whose mommy is sad because two teens, like Alex who has learned crime is good, shot her baby brother in the face, killing him, because mommy had no cash to give them!

Will sesame st address those victims?
Or continue to glorify criminals?

Where's The Obama? "If I had a son he'd look like Alex"?

Trayvon did not belong in a grave.

Trayvon did not commit a crime.

Trayvon was murdered by some scum who stalked him in the dark for his own crazy reasons.

why are you trashing a child who was murdered?

Becuase your a racist

Becuase your a racist

You are the anti american racist who doesn't believe in "innocent until proven guilty"

Why do you hate hispanics like Zimmerman. Despite his last name, he isn't a jew you know so you can put your anti zionist claws away

Why do you hate America?

Well, we should help with the story line. First Sesame Street can spend a couple of episodes where the kid tries to figure out WHO is daddy is. He can comb the hood asking random strangers "are you my daddy"

Then in episode 20, he learns that his daddy is locked up for possession and then they can spend 20 more episodes on propagandizing kids on how disproportionate the prison population is

Then in episode 50 they can introduce homosexuality to the chillen as the kids daddy gets up close and personal with his cell mate.

There are so many plot lines

Agree... I bought my husband a hoodie recently; it looked nice and comfortable. And he's not in your generation...

Given our rates of incarceration, unfortunately this is something a lot of kids need to go through. Yea for Sesame Street for reaching out to them.
