Liberal concedes tax cuts grow the economy

Pretty sure when we proposed the cut in payroll taxes for a couple years we agreed that done in the right way, cutting taxes can spur the economy. You know -the one tax cut repubs were against?

This is for new businesses - new jobs - so it's a technology incubator. Very different situation than cutting taxes for, say, an oil company who already gets so many subsidies.

Gee... aren't those college campuses FUNDED by taxes? they wouldn't be available to be made into tax-free zones WITHOUT TAXES??

So like I said...it just depends. It's an experiment. Might work, might not.

1) payroll taxcut didn't spur the economy
2) where is the capital going to come from for these businesses?

Congrats on being a supply sider.

I love biodiesel. It is on my to do list to learn how to make my own. Isn't too hard, but if not done right dangerous. Can get the oil for free from restaurants. Right now I buy it from someone who makes shitloads. Cheaper than diesel at the gas station.

Keeps my carbon footprint going

Not collecting the payroll tax did nothing for the economy and put the Soc. Sec. system deeper in the red....

and the oil comp. pay more money to the gov. through taxes than almost any other business.

Really? did nothing? the economy might not have grown much from them, but it helped keep it from shrinking as much as it might have. or, if they DIDN'T spur the economy - pretty much blows the argument that lower taxes spur economic growth, which is what supply-siders keep saying.

Apparently lower state income taxes don't grow the economy -

Still, the lack of a connection between state tax rates and economic development is backed up by a substantial numbers of studies.

You are switching gears now? One minute you said they grew the economy, then when challenged your new position is it "kept the economy from shrinking more"?

So if cutting state income taxes don't work, why is a democrat like Cuomo proposing it? Do you think Cuomo is wrong? Is he just lining the pockets of the 1%ers?

Can't wait to hear what I am sure will be a riveting analysis ;)

The few extra bucks that blue collar workers had to spend didn't do shit for the economy as a whole......its taxes on business that are meaningful.
