Adam Kokesh, Pro-Gun Activist, Calls For 'Revolutionary Army' To Demand Nationwide Se

Ok, but the question is, are we as oppressed as the colonies were in the 18th century? Is it SO bad now that it really dictates that armed rebellion is the only way out?

It's increasingly getting to that point, though we have only ourselves to blame.

Of course I must point out that I would NEVER sanction or support any kind of action against our benevolent, all loving government who can do no wrong. Never. Not at all.

Here's where I think you misunderstand, the somewhat misguided call for rebellion, especially from the right. I don't think they would, as a group change the Constitution at all. The rebellion would not be against our form of government, but against the bureaucrats that have corrupted and bastardized that form of government. People want the US to be run according to the Constitution. I think it is MUCH more likely that the left would scrap the system.

What I can't seem to fathom is a short 5 years ago, there was not a PEEP from the right about oppressive government, the Constitution being trashed by Bush. Fuck, even torture was fine and dandy.

Liberal believe in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights for ALL citizens. Not just for the opulent and corporations to run roughshod over the citizens.

Way back in 1948, old Harry S. Truman had you right wingers pegged. The only difference today is the right is even worse...MUCH worse.

"Republicans approve of the American farmer, but they are willing to help him go broke. They stand four-square for the American home--but not for housing. They are strong for labor--but they are stronger for restricting labor's rights. They favor minimum wage--the smaller the minimum wage the better. They endorse educational opportunity for all--but they won't spend money for teachers or for schools. They approve of social security benefits-so much so that they took them away from almost a million people. They think modern medical care and hospitals are fine--for people who can afford them. They believe in international trade--so much so that they crippled our reciprocal trade program, and killed our International Wheat Agreement. They favor the admission of displaced persons--but only within shameful racial and religious limitations. They consider electrical power a great blessing--but only when the private power companies get their rake-off. They say TVA is wonderful--but we ought never to try it again. They condemn "cruelly high prices"--but fight to the death every effort to bring them down. They think American standard of living is a fine thing--so long as it doesn't spread to all the people. And they admire of Government of the United States so much that they would like to buy it."
President Harry S. Truman

Dearest lil psycho... where did I state I supported that position? I simply made a fool of you for suggesting that our founding fathers would not approve of a revolution against an oppressive government.

Seeing as if our founding fathers created our government, that would be a silly assumption on your part.

Ok, but the question is, are we as oppressed as the colonies were in the 18th century? Is it SO bad now that it really dictates that armed rebellion is the only way out?

We don't have an oppressive government. We have an influx of crazed people who have convinced themselves that our government is corrupt because, and only because, a black man was elected president.

Here's where I think you misunderstand, the somewhat misguided call for rebellion, especially from the right.

That may be, but voiced calls for armed revolt and bloodshed (see STY) are fairly obvious of their intent.

yet there are those of us who did. you call us rightwingers now, but were deathly silent about our 'peeps' 5 and 6 years ago, so you'll just have to forgive those of us like me when we call you hypocrite.

Liberal believe in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights for ALL citizens. Not just for the opulent and corporations to run roughshod over the citizens.
weren't you supportive over the IRS targeting conservative groups?

No, I do not personally think it is to that point. But given the increasingly oppressive and intrusive federal government, I can understand why rhetoric may have reached that level.

And WHAT oppressive government did the founders revolted against? Was it a representative republic? Did it have a Constitution and a Bill of Rights?? Did it have 3 equal branches, an executive, a legislative and a judicial? Were citizens able to vote in democratic elections for their representatives on a local, state and federal level??? Was it possible for any citizen to become a prominent member of local, state or federal government????

I did not say that the two were structured identically... but regardless of structure, they both possess the ability to be oppressive. Or do you think our government's structure prohibits that?

Are you blind to the increasing power of the Federal government over the past half century?

Seeing as if our founding fathers created our government, that would be a silly assumption on your part.

Again... the founders created a government where the federal government was far less intrusive and oppressive than what we see today. Just because they created the structure doesn't mean that structure hasn't become corrupt.

We don't have an oppressive government. We have an influx of crazed people who have convinced themselves that our government is corrupt because, and only because, a black man was elected president.

More racist bullshit on your part. You want to pretend this is about the skin pigmentation of one man. It is not. You simply fall back to your line of crap because shouting 'RACIST!' makes you feel like you have ended the debate. It instead simply makes you look the fool.

The founders were racist slave owning mutha fuckers!
Fuck them and your silly cant change the slave owners outdated thinking.

when I say this, i'm not saying it TO you, or in any negative or positive way. People just don't get the position that the average soldier or marine are placed in, especially in combat. non military people are quite fond of talking about following orders or not following unjust orders, but any soldier or marine that refuses to obey an order that they consider unjust, is going to be run through more hell than they would by simply following the order, no matter the moral hell it puts them through. it's a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation.

Your commander literally has the right to shoot you for not following orders. After the fact, you may not be punished, you could perhap be honored, but even the guy who intervened with a helicopter at the My Lai massacre was condemned as a traitor at the time and only got the Soldiers medal decades after the fact, and, again, the commanding officer could've shot him for his actions. It has to be something you're willing to risk your life for, and you'd have to do so under the knowledge that you'd be lucky simply to receive no punishment afterward.

Have the terrorists finally succeeded in destroying the USA. Now even the Nationalists don't love the USA anymore. Or will they go back to loving it when we get a republican president?

It's kind of bizarre, I have conservative friends who are saying the most bizarrely anti-patriotic things that even I wouldn't say. It's like, hey there, aren't I supposed to be the one that hates America? I miss the old days.
