Non Christians make up a very small number of our population. So that's kind a self serving strawman. They wouldn't stand a chance if all Christians wanted a Theocracy....no, what's keeping a Theocracy at bay is:

A. Rule of Law....our Constitution forbids it.

And

B. The fact that very few Christians are wackos.

EDIT: addendum to point B....while there are very few wackos, the ones we do have are very loud...so their presence is greatly exagerrated.

That and Christian doctrine that states "My kingdom is not of this world", "render to Ceasar, that which is Ceasar's" and "obey all authorities institutited among men". Christianity doesnt concern itself with governance. Whereas Islam dictates both the form of government and law to be applied.

With all due respect, any suggestion that Christianity plays no role in the laws of the land in America is far, far from the truth. Often, opening new societal doors to all Americans means knocking down Christian doors first. Gay rights is an example of that.

To quote the bible, "You may take your slaves from the heathen nations around you" - Leviticus 25:44 .. and it goes on to say, ".. and Ye' may will them to your children like cattle"

Slavers quoted that bullshit a lot.

I didnt make any such suggestion. One only needs read Patrick Henry's "Common Sense" where he uses the bible to demonstrate the illegitimacy of the divine rule of monarchs and demonstrate the legitimacy of government of, by and for the people, to see that it played a very big role. None of which would lead to a theocracy and instead lead to the seperation of church and state. The freedom of religion.

There are also some Christians that realize a Theocracy would be a bad idea. I think we have a few on this board.
