I've had many conversations on this board where idiot righties have been all "where is Code Pink now?" and denied that they're challenging Obama when I've claimed they have been.

The anti-war left is still the anti-war left.

Obama is proof positive that the vast majority of the democratic outrage against Bush was just politics .. nothing at all to do with humanity.

What's 'wrong' with me is that I'm consistent about principle in a land of unprincipled people.

I stood against Bush's wars and attacks on civil liberties and I actively worked against them.

I stand against Obama's wars and attacks on civil liberties and I actively work against them.

Can you say the same thing?

Obama is conducting the Bush foreign policy on steroids .. and all those who screamed about Bush, but are mute on Obama conducting the same foreign policy .. are the unprincipled.

It was all about politricks, not humanity.

seriously... how the hell do you get that he likes Bush from his comments? He was agreeing that many on the left gave up their 'outrage' the second Bush was gone and Obama took office. How does that mean he likes Bush?

BAC has been consistent throughout both Presidencies as to his anti-war position.

The core of the anti-war left were never Democrats. The ones I knew all voted Kucinich and Nadar in 2000. Moveon brought in actual Democrats later on. And they did inflate the numbers. But they weren't the core, and they weren't really the anti-war left either. I feel that by 07 the anti-war movement had fizzled anyway. At least where i live. By late 07 anyway. By 08 the moveon people were working the election, and even some of the harder core were doing that. Once Obama was elected there was a brief period when people like Medea gave him a chance to close Gitmo and get out of Afghanistan. But that was a small window. It closed by the end of 09. Most of them didn't even give him that.

I personally dropped out before Obama was elected due to fatigue. By that time we were being followed around by groups like gathering of eagles. I have stood on curbs while grown men much older than me hit me in the face with an American flag over and over again. I got tired of threats and being pushed and called names for so many years.

The pro-war righties are truly the most awful people. This post is probably too long, but to give an example, once Obama was in office they had the summer of the townhalls over health care. And I decided to go back out on there and I attended several very large pro reform rallies. This was very interesting because it attracted union guys on our side, and Ron Paul type libertarians on their side. People who simply not out there during the war protests. Once again I was standing on a curb and an old man who I had seen previously in war protests was pushing me into the street. Two of the much younger Libertarian guys walked over and told him to move to the end, one of them actually stating, I dont' agree with her but I'll defend her right to say it. The guy moved.

ANd that was the difference in those crowds. It taught me a lot. Anyway, I think everyone's reasons for leaving the peace movement differ, or largely differ. Some did because of Obama though. I do know a couple of those. But many left for similar reasons to mine. Just weary of it all.

The problem is that many democrats .. who by the way DO NOT represent the left .. simply believe that they are above the same critique they had of Bush, republicans, or the Tea Party.

They believe that Obama is above the law.
