Repugnant

1. The Red Cross has roots as a private Christian charity.

Having a flag from a christian organization (if it was indeed that), is a far cry from your claim that it was founded as a private christian charity. It was most certainly NOT founded as a private christian charity.

But feel free to keep arguing about the origins of the flag, the Swiss Flag and other trivia. But at least be honest enough to admit you were wrong in your claim about the American Red Cross.

Accused does not mean convicted.

Absolutely not. BUT, if I or ANYONE used someone to prove a point that was rumored to be gay, you would beat that queer horse to death. It would be prima facia evidence of being wrong. Every person that comes to this site KNOWS that.

1. No, it isn't. It was founded by Clara Barton, a nurse and also supports blood drives. Dumbfuck.
2. Looking in a mirror?
3. So you admit I'm right and are backtracking again?

You didn't actually expect "factual debate" from DumbMonkey, now did you?

The people of Oklahoma should not be denied assistance because of the insanity of their highest elected leaders .. but they bear a responsibility for all the insane policies they support .. and by extension .. its citizens support.

The same is true of Kentucky and Rand Paul.

USDA Designates 7 Counties in Kentucky as Primary Natural Disaster Areas With Assistance to Producers in Surrounding States

WASHINGTON, Sept. 5, 2012 — The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has designated seven counties in Kentucky as primary natural disaster areas due to losses caused by excessive heat and drought that began April 1, 2012, and continues.

“Our hearts go out to those Kentucky farmers and ranchers affected by these natural disasters,” said Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. “President Obama and I are committed to ensuring that agriculture remains a bright spot in our nation’s economy by sustaining the successes of America’s farmers, ranchers, and rural communities through these difficult times. We’re also telling Kentucky producers that USDA stands with you and your communities when severe weather and natural disasters threaten to disrupt your livelihood.”

Farmers and ranchers in the following counties in Kentucky also qualify for natural disaster assistance because their counties are contiguous.

I wonder how many Paul voters turned down assistance from the 'socialist?'
Most of the so caled "red states" are hypocritical as hell about spending. Most of them recieve significantly more federal dollars than what they pay in taxes despite all their anti-tax, anti-spending, anti- government rhetoric. It really gets old that us Blue Staters have to bust our asses to produce so that these mooching hypcrits can take.

Probably none. I feel that the people of these states seem to view themselves as "the salt of the earth" and everyone else as "takers". I would not deny them assistance, or even take back the money I donated, but I feel strongly that they own this guy, and a majority of them agree with him. I feel they should be ashamed of themselves. But I will be more charitable than they are. Mostly because so many of the victims were children.

Though children died in Sandy too.
It is hypocritical as hell of them but one of my Christian values, that many red staters don't seem to share, is to turn the other cheek and to do my duty as a Christian.

Charities are often the first groups in with relief. The way they are structured makes it easier for them to get boots on the ground on short notice. But what the first wave does is not about rebuilding. The first wave is about relief. They provide food, shelter, and some basic facilities that help the people stagger back to their feet.

The long term help is what is needed. Tuscaloosa AL was slammed by tornadoes in April of 2011. Many areas have not had more than rubble removal. It will be years before Tuscaloosa recovers.
It took about 10 years before the destruction caused by the Xenia, Ohio tornado in the 70's wasn't apparently visible anymore.

You may think that you know that...

That may be true but two wrongs never make a right.

It is true, not may be. I do agree, and totally support aid for them, but I am really sick and tired of these people who dont' live on the coasts thinking of themselves as the salt of the earth and just better people. They aren't. IN fact, they have repeatedly elected two awful people who vote to inflict harm and pain on others, every time they can. And when they need something it's always "different'.

This is where DumnYankme got schooled. He said "The Red Cross has roots as a private Christian charity" and then when he sees it was NEVER a private christian charity he makes up some shit about the swiss flag cross being a Christian symbol ergo because the ICRC uses it it MUST also be a Christian organization. Just admit when you talk out of your anus and then get called on it instead of trying to make your original statement above look like something else.

Which is why you won't find the Dumb Monkey responding to either of your posts...

After the french July Revolution of 1830, liberal politicians regained strength in Switzerland and demanded for more centralistic institutions. Therefore also the question of uniforms and a common flag for all swiss troops was discussed in the 1830's. In 1840 finally, the flag with the Swiss Cross was introduced for all troops. The later general Dufour was an advocate of this flag. By replacing the cantonal banners in the Swiss Army, the Swiss Flag was a key element in the process leading to national (instead of cantonal) identity and in the strenghtening of central institutions of the federal state created with the 1848 federal constitution.

So the Red flag with the white cross was the symbol of a STRONG CENTRAL GOVERNMENT. Talk about swinging for the fence and getting nothing.

Not a peep from the Dumb Monkey...

I think everyone should try volunteering to help in a disaster area. I did it in the 1990's when the Mississippi river had a major flood. It was quite the experience.

Point it out to them.
