OK, now I have 2 questions:
1) Are you a parent?
2) Are you a human being?
Answer my question first.

transference, perhaps?
Answer my question first.
You just can comprehend the fact parents in that park didn't know the gun wasn't a real, lethal weapon. After the fact information is irrelevant. The father screwed up BIG time. It may not be a real .38 caliber handgun, but it is more than a 'toy'. Pawlowski was also charged with possession of an illegal BB gun.
Ignorance of the law is not an excuse. Pawlowski is personally responsible to know the laws. If he doesn't like NYC laws, he should move to a town where the pickup line at the local bar is "nice TOOTH"
I assume you mean this one that was pages back...
Chapel The Evergreen: "So you're telling me how I'd feel? And you can qualify this statement based on...?"
My statement is based on normal human emotion in response to an imminent threat to your child. And it also hinges on your answer to my question. If you are not a parent, there is no way of knowing how strong those emotions are.
Your turn...
This guy is nuttier than Planters. 007 was the one who didn't want a guy smoking around his child, but he finds some nut in a park around small children with a BB gun acceptable, he makes me laugh.
So in other words you're projecting your own emotions onto me? No, I'm not a parent. And have no desire to be one any time soon. Doesn't change that how I'd feel, as I've actually been in situations like you've described.
I'mma need to see a citation for that, since you're claiming to be able to read not only my own emotions better than me, but the future as well.Well, it does change. I can tell you if someone pointed a gun at me, my emotions would be much calmer and less fearful than if they pointed it at one of my kids. It is something you can't relate to.
Even the self proclaimed gun expert says: Post #64: Chapel The Evergreen: "But what would I, a fucking firearms expert, know?"
Bfgrn: "There was NOTHING physically indicating it was not a real handgun...no bright colored barrel tip etc."
Chapel The Evergreen: "If that's the case then they broke the law."
Yeah, if there is no orange-ish tip it's illegal. I don't know about other laws in NY (which can be assumed to be fascist anyways), but he did break at least one law. Doesn't change the fact that people are getting overly butt-hurt over it.

Latent homosexuality.
There is no citation. I am telling you how I feel. I would sacrifice my life for my kids in a instant.
Blowing smoke in a babies face is attempted murder. This guy is nuttier than Planters. 007 was the one who didn't want a guy smoking around his child, but he finds some nut in a park around small children with a BB gun acceptable, he makes me laugh.
If it was otherwise the police response would have been less than an hour.and you know all this....how?
That doesn't indicate an emotion, that indicates a course of action. That also only applies to you, when the entire time you've been telling me how I would feel, despite never having been in this situation yourself.

well... rather than get all pissy about it, you might just accept the fact that those of us who are parents know that our emotions and reactions and feelings of protectiveness truly manifested themselves only AFTER the arrival of our children. I, too, have had guns pointed - and fired - at me before, and while it was unnerving, the mere thought of seeing someone point a gun at one of my children causes an entirely different reaction that I would not have thought possible before becoming a parent.
I have no problem with people telling me how they feel or would feel, but I DO have a problem when they presume to know how I would feel or react to anything.
