Responsible Gun Owner Dad Takes Kids Shooting In Park Filled With Other Kids!

It is not even a pellet gun as the article states...it is a child's toy. The man should have known better but that doesn't change the fact it is a toy made for kids.

So why was the father arrested for possession of an illegal BB gun?

Because the police in such a liberal city are idiots too? ;)

No, seriously Howey, I am still not sure about the kind of gun this is and am just basing my thoughts on the pictures I have seen in the articles I have read and the information in those articles. If it is indeed an airsoft pistol this should not be something for which a person could get arrested ... Even in NYC. If it is a full fledged pellet gun then I fully agree with punishment in this situation ... a fine but not an arrest. Here is a link to Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=3395141 Note the difference between pellets (first pic) and Air Soft Ammo (3rd pic). That's what I am talking about when I say it isn't a pellet gun. There's a big difference between a pellet gun and an Air Soft Toy.

I posted a pic of the actual gun earlier in this thread. Regardless of whether the laws or police are liberal (which I doubt, remember the news about them profiling) the guy broke the law and displayed an incredible lack of common sense by letting his daughter ride around on a bicycle waving it.

This should cause some of the Brits to weep.

There are airsoft clubs, teams and even sports associations devoted to airsoft events around the world. Europe is home to some of the largest events, with skirmishes of over 2,000 people participating. The US is catching up quickly in size. In 2012 Fulda Gap in North Carolina had over 1,100 people and O.L.C.M.S.S. Lion Claws (John Lu) had 800 people attend at Georges Air Force Base, CA. American Mil-sim, Black Sheep, and Ballahack also host large games (to name a few). The draw of the larger games is due to the intensity and variety in equipment that is used from small arms all the way up to technicals and armored vehicles.

Now that you've stopped being such a coward, can you cite what law was broken and not just repeat what he was charged with?

The guy acted in an idiotic, moronic fashion, ... I've already said that. He allowed his daughter to handle the gun in an unsafe fashion if the article is factual. My beef is with a law that will allow an arrest for possession of a toy ... And not so much with the police who have to enforce the law, unless they could have used some judgment and didn't do it.

This is something that has me confused...

Since grade school we've, as in all of us, have faced the unwritten rule of group dynamics: The sins of the few cause the punishment of many. Remember when all the kids had to come in from the playground because two got in a fight?

All of a sudden nobody wants to play by the rules. We don't care who breaks the rules as long as it doesn't affect us. We don't want to be punished for the actions of the idiot who takes his kids to the park and plays with a toy gun, terrorizing other children and adults, we don't want to be punished for the actions of the guys who buy bomb making equipment over the internet and kill, we don't want to be responsible for the guy who takes his mother's guns and mows down 26 innocent children and adults, we don't want to be responsible for the guy who walks into a movie theatre and starts shooting.

No...we don't want to take responsibility for the actions of others. Even our own children. We yell our rights have been violated, we yell we're going to lose our freedom, we yell anarchy! Yet we don't want to change the laws to help prevent this from happening again.

We don't care about the group dynamic, we only care about our comfort. But what happens when our comfort level is disrupted and we become a victim of the above?

Don't we want more laws, more enforcement, more oversight to make sure it doesn't happen to others? Making our rules isn't the way to go.

I was just going to use that word. I was using 'fire' as a generic term. I forgot I was talking to a word bound anal retentive moron.

Nice to see you are still capable of a rational discussion without insults. So refreshing.

But you asked a question and I gave you an accurate answer. If its not what you wanted to hear, that is not my problem. But there is a difference between "fired" and "shot".

And if a bank robber used a toy gun to rob a bank? Can't have it both ways...

Using a "fake gun" or simulating a weapon is covered under laws that address bank robberies/.
And have no bearing on this situation, Howey.

You used incorrect language.
You cannot help it, you are a semi literate fucking retard!

As I said, I used the term fire in the generic sense. Whether it uses gunpowder, compressed gas, compressed air or some other means of propulsion, it does fire (shoot) a projectile So, it is more than just a 'toy', which you may not want to hear.

My question is: what was this father trying to teach his children? He is the poster boy for why more than just felons should NEVER own a gun.

Well he didn't own a gun. He owned a toy. And why exactly shouldn't he be allowed to own a firearm based on his actions with something that wasn't a firearm?

No, dosent fire them either.

I repeat , FIRE, the word is a clue.

Does your arm FIRE a baseball?
Fucking retard.

Yea it did, ask the batters who were shivering in the batters box. Fire can be a generic term.

Main Entry: fire
Part of Speech: verb
Definition: detonate or throw a weapon
Synonyms: cast, discharge, eject, explode, fling, heave, hurl, launch, let off, loose, pitch, pull trigger, set off, shell, shoot, toss, touch off

If I need to tell you, then YOU shouldn't be allowed to own a gun either.

So someones action with a toy is indicative of their attitude towards everything else. I guess if someone speeds and drives erratically in a racing game they should have their drivers license revoked? Or do you only apply this attitude towards rights that you choose not to exercise, because you're a fascist?
