Government takes down Liberator plans

As of a few minutes ago, the DoD Trade Controls took down the Liberator plans from DEFCAD.org.

Of course since this is the internet, the plans are still all over the place. Like here:

This attempt at control will likely result in MORE people having the plans then if they have just left it alone. Also probably going to result in a nice hefty lawsuit from DEFCAD.

It's the 3d printer gun that everyone was bitching about a few days ago. By taking the plans down, the government has ensured that they'll be distributed at an exponentially higher rate.

i get that, it's the principle of the thing. the sheer audacity of the abuse of power is what I have an issue with, that and those that approve of it.

They're claiming ITAR in this instance, but I doubt they have a legitimate claim since ITAR only refers to actual military information.
