My posts reflect the class of whomever I am responding to at the time. If someone presents a solid argument, I discuss it in calm, polite terms. If someone spouts nonsense and calls me a redneck, I respond in kind.

It probably does cover the 11 prosecutions for using disproportionate force against intruders between 1990 and 2005. I haven't got the figures for the subsequent 7 years but i'd estimate there may have been another 5 or so.

I mentioned ARRESTED, not prosecuted; but then, it appears that you find no problem with people being punished for defending themselves from criminals.

Was hunting woooded area, used 30 caliber hunting ammo not hardball rounds and never lost a deer to it getting away. By the way I am an excellent shot. I never ever lost a deer back when I used a 12 gauge and slugs / 00 buckshot alternated in the magazine. I do take only kill shots and never just blast way.

When younger I used a 12 ga to deer hunt, did quite well. Later used a 30'06 but found that M1 carbine was perfect for me.
Being an excellent shot helps. Having over 45 years of steady shooting helps too.:)

I'm not aware there are any figures for people arrested defending their home from an intruder.
