the tune hasn't changed a bit. I have always been completely supportive of entrepreneurial innovation and when it led to wealth creation, all the better. I have also always been in favor of higher marginal tax rates on the wealthiest Americans who benefit disproportionately from the great infrastructure and markets that our government tax dollars help create. I have no problem when republicans get rich and I have no problem when democrats get rich. I want them all to pay a bit more to help solve our fiscal dilemma, regardless of their party. When have I EVER said anything differently?
All water under the bridge....:
I certainly agree with your post for the most part...of course, I don't buy the higher marginal tax rates on anyone, thats just my idea of equal justice and fair play...
50,000 @ a 10% rate is 5000 in taxes.....500000 @ that rate is 50,000 in taxes....thats fair, thats just, thats equal treatment under the law....there is no reason
to confiscate more money from the more successful earner....
And of course, both or these imaginary taxpayers enjoy
the very same infrastructure and markets that both their tax dollars help create....as a matter fact....
the more successful taxpayer is contributing quite a bit more to that infrastructure than the lower earner who enjoys with it all with equal zest.
so that dog don't hunt as the saying goes....
No one benefits disproportionately, I believe you benefit according to your talents or luck or how you network and how good your decisions are, what risks you are
willing to take, and of course, how good the economy is,
so that strawman don't cut it either....
your phrase, ' benefit disproportionately'
implys something underhanded or illegal...while I'm assuming everything is being done within the law....
To hold that the ditch digger should be treated better that the college dean and in turn the Senator treated better than the average citizen is ludicrous to me....
