29% think armed revolt might be necessary

Who complains more than you folk? They're gonna take our guns away, Socialism, Communism, Abortions, Gays, welfare, entitlements, armed rebellion... need I go on?

Your side are the ones that started whining first, about guns and such; but you want to call responses to those comments as complaining.
Simply amazing!!

a "lunatic"? really? how cordial.

to compare the US, a country where no one is really used to fighting anyone else and everyone lives a relatively cushy life under a well organized government with a powerful standing army and myriad levels of police forces to Afghanistan, where folks have been fighting one another in tribal settings for centuries and there IS no governmental organization to speak of is not "lunacy", but the comparison is certainly not valid.

You are correct, the comparison is probably not valid. A revolution in the US would be easier. It is far easier to move around the US. You have only to look at drug smugglers to see how easy it is to move tons and tons of cargo around without ever being caught. And the afganis do not have near the communications technologies available to insurgents in the US. Now the gov't COULD eavesdrop and bug lots of systems, but we have seen how easy it is to get the population riled up about privacy. It would not be hard to get people mad at the gov't for taking away their privacy, especially if there hadn't been an attack in a while.

You are also assuming that no one in the gov't would be part of the revolution. While the top elected officials change, their underlings and the bulk of the people do not change. I have no doubt there are plenty of disgruntled gov't employees who would feed info as needed. Hell, the press gets classified info regularly.

Also, unless you are imagining a pitched battle with clear lines, the gov't would have little or no idea who was dangerous and who was not. If you think bombing an iragi wedding full of innocent people got bad press, wait until it is a wedding in the US with your friends and neighbors as "collateral damage".

Riiiight....who are the ones that feel that expanded background checks are a precursor to confiscation?

It IS simply amazing.....how far in denial you guys are....you look for conspiracy in even the smallest of current events...You listen, watch and read totally biased sources of information that only feeds your paranoia.

Responses were written, after the liberals started whining about the extended back ground checks.

I have yet to have anyone explain how expanded back ground checks are going to stop criminals for acquiring weapons.

Why would anyone want to go to Mexico, to bomb his house?
If a revolution starts in the US; Mexico is probably going to round up all the illegal Americans, like MM.

again... you misread the quote about my house... why am I not surprised?

and I am quite legal here in Mexico. They LOVE American expats. We bring boatloads of money into their economy and we employ lots of locals. For the past year and a half, I've employed a ten man crew of masons, electriclans, plumbers and painters - not to mention architects- pretty much full time, and now that the house is done, we employ a housekeeper, a cook, a gardener and a pool guy. The mexican government is quite happy to have me here legally and I have the papers to prove it. lol

you know what's funny?....when MM grabs his gun and heads back to Maine to kill the traitorous dogs in the street the border patrol is going to stop him and confiscate his weapon.......
I have no intention of going anywhere. YOu too misread my post about shooting dogs in the street. But if I ever DID go back, I would not be so foolish as to take a weapon with me. My sons in Maine and New York have extras.

What about all the other issues and constant conspiracy paranoia? I noticed you only want to focus on one issue....

Hey MM.... are you employed or retired? If you don't mind me asking...what income level would it take to do what you are doing?

Gee, that was a bunch of information that had nothing to do with what was posted; but thanks anyway.
Especially since you fail to recognize that if the US goes to shit, you'll get no money and the Mexican government will probably be looking to expel all the "gringos". :)

Historical facts aren't usually seen as CT's, so your strawman is missing a few bales.
That and the cheese has slid off of your cracker. :)

again... why in the world do you think that if the US goes to shit, my income goes away or my assets? And why would the Mexican government be looking to expel anyone. You have never really explained where you come up with that wild ass theory?

Please tell everyone the basis for your ASSumption that Mexico will kick all the "gringos" out, if the USA "goes to shit".

Because you're a foreigner.
