You would be amazed how motivated people would be when the handouts stop and they have to go out and earn some money
The obvious solution is not too have Obama economic policies that reward the takers and punish the producers
But you still did not answer the question
Which is it?
Obama and his supporters are always talking about the "recovery" we are in
But when economic facts are presented, the same people tell us how many "poor" people there are and how they need "help"

Well, that's one theory.... another is we'll have people starving in the streets in the wealthiest country in the world.
To answer your question....it's both.
Things are slowly getting better. But that doesn't mean that people aren't jobless or underemployed.
How about you answering a question for me now....
Why is it that you're OK with blaming only the poor for the welfare situation? Why is none of your ire directed at the people who benefit most from the safety net, in fact...you want them to benefit more by eliminating the minimum wage.
You see, when government makes up the difference for shitty wages with food stamps, subsidized housing and Medicaid.... that's coming out of our pockets as taxpayers. Your side keeps telling me that if they paid good wages, then prices would go up....well...add the cost of those programs onto the price of goods, and they're already up. We just don't see it in the store.

The minimum wage is not needed. The market place should and would dictate what a person is paid. In fact very few people make the minimum wage as those workers are unskilled and doing entry level work
That is the other talking point liberals use that goes against another one of their talking points
For years I have been told how FAT Americans are then the minute you talk about the waste and expanded welfare sate liberals go right to the "people starving in the street" line
I have never seen or read about a fat person starving in the street
Perhaps if Democrats were not so greedy and demanding trillions more in taxes, of if Obamacare was not putting people out of work, or preventing companies from hiring, or if the Obama Regulation Nation were pulled back, or if it were not so easy to go on a government program. - more people would find work
But that would make people self sufficient and not need Democrats and their handouts

until you have been there do not feel free to be critical but be glad that you live in a nation that does not cast its unemployed out into the streets even though some find themselves there despite the so called safety net.

The company I work for started me at just above minimum wage 25 years ago, I worked my but off to keep moving up, and now I make an alright living, as does my wife, we qualified for wic when we first got married, and had children, never took a dime, figured working hard and being good to our employers was the way to go. It worked, now you have people who come to work, and expect to start out making what I do, with a company car and a membership to the country club it does not work that way.
