I think you made a similiar prediction for 2012. A lot can happen between now and then. Here's what I know for certain, urban areas will remain predominantly Democrat and rural areas will remain predominantly Republican. Since most of the country has been gerry mandered to give rural voters grossly disproportionate influence, they may make some gains in the house. Since more Democratic than Republican seats are up for election in 2014 it stands to reason that Dems are at more risk of losing seats than Republicans. Having said that I don't see major change occuring based on current events.
My prediction for 2012 was that Obama would be re-elected .. and unlike many democrats who were frightened by his first debate performance .. I knew he would still win. It was easy. The only relevant question to ask was which of the two puppets (Obama v Romney) would best serve the interests of the puppetmasters. Hands down that would be Obama.
I also predicted the 2010 midterms long before they happened .. which was also quite easy.
I also said at the time that the Tea Party would be Obama's best weapon and get him re-elected.
It's not rocket science.
You failed to factor in the impact cuts to SS and Medicare will have on the democratic base .. which is finally waking up to discover they've been all excited about a con man. Nothing as advertised.
You failed to factor in the impact of Obamacare in your analysis ..
Obamacare's Unpopularity Grows in New Poll
excerpt --
While some recent polls had indicated a lowering of opposition to President Obama's health care law -- in all likelihood, a diminishing of election focused opinion -- a poll released by the Kaiser Family Foundation and the Harvard School of Public Health concludes otherwise.
The
Kaiser/Harvard survey found that the law is opposed by 50% of Americans, a sharp increase from December's statistics. The rise was mostly driven by an increase in opposition from the politically significant independent voters -- the survey found 57% of independents opposed the law, up from 41 percent last month.
Only
19% of Americans and
14% of independent voters describe themselves as "Very Favorable" of the law,
while 34% of Americans and 40% of independents say they have a "Very Unfavorable" view of it. A full 47% of independents support repeal of the law, with or without a replacement.

Federal Workers Angry: 'Shameful Abandonment' Of Campaign Pledge
Obama Budget Plan Would Hike Employee Contributions, Reduce Federal Worker Pension Payouts
"Our folks are furloughed, frozen and fed up," Klement told HuffPost. "Our folks are sick of this. Enough is enough."
In a statement Wednesday, the American Federation of Government Employees, the largest federal worker union, called the Obama budget "a shameful abandonment" of a campaign pledge to protect the middle class.
"The administration seems determined to contribute to a worsening of living standards for federal workers, disabled veterans, and the elderly," said J. David Cox, the union's president.

Did I mention that neither republicans nor even Paul Ryan want to cut Social Security .. but Obama does?
Democrats deserve what's coming because they lack the courage to lead .. not because this is just cyclical.
