Tears at thatchers death

Thank God I got rid of that post about the ceiling before anyone quoted it. I read it and realized how that would be taken, and that I was ranking myself out badly. That is what you get for posting high.

Yeah, what a travesty that she took that failing British economy of 1979 and turned it around. She also should have just caved into Argentina, because the Falklands are a gross display of British imperialism. What a lousy PM she turned out to be. Why, if not for her, there may not have been a revived nation for the Reform to fuck over in more recent years!

Exactly what I was going to post. Too bad I can only thanked you once for it!

Let's face it, England was a fucking paradise when she came into power wasn't it?? Was Red Robbo your hero?

England was totally in the crapper when she took control. She turned it completely around. While doing so she destroyed many of the liars ,leeches and union asswipes that had so destroyed it! Those are the Brit asswipes we see so happily trashing her now. The American ones doing so now are just ignorant blowhards not worth the time it would take to educate their dumb asses.

Never repress your innermost feelings, Darla. Besides, we all know you're full of shit to begin with. ;)

So the UK (England is only part of the UK) was in the crapper. Well it certainly was not as healthy as it should have been, but it all started a long time ago. Under Heath we had inflation of up to 23% (he was a Tory), the labour party was, after Harold Wilson, in almost total disarray.... BUT that does not mean that there was only one single way out!
If you are only capable of binary thought then you will never see that most things are grey, not black and white.
WhoEVER had taken the reins would have made differences to the economy. Mickey Mouse would have improved things! Thatcher made important differences BUT she KILLED off dozens of communities just so she could make a name for herself by killing the unions. There was no reason for the destruction of industry in the UK except to line the pockets of her cronies.
The EU is STILL today subsidising their coal industry and we could have continued to subsidise ours, reducing it bit by bit, and allow the mines to close naturally so the workers in villages such as Grimethorpe could have been retrained as new industries and opportunities evolved. But no, Thatcher wanted the head of Scargill and was prepared to kill 165 producing coal mines and put thousands of hard working workers on the scrap heap for her pleasure. That was her evil legacy.
This woman who you laud and honour called Nelson Mandela a terrorist, supported apartheid in South Africa and welcomed Pinochet as a friend.
Are Americans really aware of what she did? When her ratings dived she did what Kim jong Un is doing now. She went to war. She went to war with Argentina, causing the deaths of thousands and shooting the Argentinian ship the Belgrano in the back as it left Falklands waters and when it was over the UK vegetables who could not see the truth, increased her popularity by a factor of two.
Now her sucking up Etonian heirs are planning her funeral which, just like the USSR and China and other dictatorships, will BAN members of the public from the route taken by the coffin.
Have you ever been BANNED from your own city centre? What would you say if you were not permitted to walk your own streets?
NEVER believe that Thatcher was just a Tory or was just like a republican. She made American hard line republicans look like pussies.
There you are, Tom. More bullshit for you.

You are again displaying a highly partisan view of the past. If she supported apartheid as you claim then why did her government sign the Lancaster House agreement? I am sure that many have come to regret letting that murderous bastard Mugabe anywhere near the levers of power.

As for the Belgrano, more bullshit. It had not left Falkland waters, as has been revealed in the book Silent Listener, it was actually sailing away to a rendezvous point inside the 200 mile Total Exclusion Zone. I speak as one that was vehemently against the sinking at the time but have come to realise that she was right to give the order. She knew that full well at the time but wouldn't reveal the information because she didn't want to compromise signal intelligence. It's a shame really as she could have stopped that Scottish windbag Tam Dayell wittering on and on about it. I often wonder why socialists, as you profess to be, would want to offer support to a right wing fascist dictatorship, I just do not understand that.

The EU is forcing a number of coal fired stations to close in the UK, indeed one of them closed just the other day.

We had more than a decade of the miners holding the country to ransom nearly every year. At least Joe Gormley could be reasoned with, Scargill was determined to take on the government and he never made any secret that he wanted a revolution. The strike only succeeded because the electricity workers were fed up with the miners and allowed coal supplies to be built up at power stations, so much for solidarity!! I know full well what happened in places like Grimethorpe, I used to drive through it many times to get to work in Barnsley.

She did welcome Pinochet and that is a black mark against her, I will give you that one.

Here's some more 'bullshit' for you. This time taken from The History Learning Site'
On April 29th, 1982, the Belgrano and two destroyers were patrolling to the south of the Falkland Islands. All three ships were detected by HMS Conqueror and on April 30th, the Conqueror started her approach to them. The Belgrano was outside of the Total Exclusion Zone established by the British government around the Falkland Islands. However, at 12,000 tons fully loaded and with a decent array of weapons (including British Sea Cat missiles), the Belgrano was considered to be a threat to the Task Force even if she was outside of the Exclusion Zone. The commander of Conqueror, Chris Wreford-Brown was given the go-ahead to attack.
On May 2nd, the Conqueror fired three conventional torpedoes at the Belgrano. The first one hit the bow but internal bulkheads held and the damage done at this end of the Belgrano, though substantial, was not critical and there were no deaths or injuries from this torpedo.
The second torpedo hit the Belgrano towards the stern. Here, the explosion from the hit resulted in massive damage and caused an estimated 275 deaths from this single torpedo. The explosion caused a 20-metre gash in the Belgrano’s deck and so damaged the ship’s electrical system that the captain did not have sufficient power to put out a distress call to the nearby destroyers. The lack of power also meant that the ship’s pumps could not work and the hull quickly filled with water and smoke.

You really should try and keep up to date. I also notice that you have consistently failed to mention that it was an extreme right wing dictatorship that took the decision to invade the Falklands. The same dictatorship that had already killed tens of thousands of its own people, I wonder why that slipped your mind?

I should also point out that the Belgrano was not alone and had a number of escorts with it and they were all heading for an rendezvous point inside the exclusion zone. I ask who do you believe the British or the Argentinians? Mrs. T didn't reveal it at the time because she didn't want them to know that they had broken their naval codes.

For decades debate and recrimination has raged over where the ship was heading when it was torpedoed by a Royal Navy submarine.
Britain received international criticism after the sinking after the Argentine Junta announced that the warship had been returning to its home port and was outside the 200 mile exclusion zone imposed by Whitehall.

But Major David Thorp, who spent 34 years working as a signals expert in military intelligence, has disclosed for the first time that he was asked to carry out a trawl of all the intelligence on the sinking at the direct request of Margaret Thatcher a few months after the end of the war. He was ordered to compile a report for the Prime Minister called “The Sinking of the Belgrano” that has never been published. From his own signals intercepts and those from other Government agencies, he proved that the Argentine cruiser was heading into the exclusion zone.

I must say that I've been surprised at just how badly informed you are about those years. So here is something else that you can chose to ignore, Neil Kinnock speaking in 2009 on the madness of Arthur Scargill. I usually don't have a lot of time for Kinnochio but he is spot on the money here. Arthur Scargill wanted to bring down an elected government and he used the miners for his own ends. He refused three times to hold a national ballot. His hubris was his downfall and I feel sorry for the lions that were led by a fucking donkey.

12 pages of disgusting from libtards, one for each year of Thatcher's glorious reign as PM.

I am sorry but I will not agree with that either, she did do some rotten things as well. Notably support for Pinochet, not recognising Mandela and speaking out against apartheid, not speaking out against Ronnie and his covert support for the Contras and the poll tax. But on balance she did a hell of a lot more good than bad.
